MDJunction to me

"MDJunction to me is a life saver... when i first was diagnosed with Scheuermann's Disease i wrote a message to a page i found on google, hoping that they could help me.... you'd never know it but that weird feeling (you know that one where it feels like someone actually cares) came over me when i opened my email next day to find that someone on the other side of the world (at the American Medical Library)had read my message while i was sleeping, and there low and behold was the address to MDJunction.... well it is everything to me, i live it breathe it and love it!!!!! I have found many people who are struggling with similar issues banding together to help each other. It is the best place in the world, and i couldn't think of another place to go to meet so many lovely people....

thanks MDJunction

Hi Julie, your symptoms are a lot more severe than mine. With sulfa, it's like my muscles just quit working - I can't walk, lift my arms, etc. With everything else, it's a severe rash. I'm finding some antibiotics here and there that I can use. I'm breaking out once a month now, and although the breakouts are severe, I'm attributing them to the Lyme and not the abx, since it would be constant if it were the abx.

I'm glad that the doctor is still treating you for Lyme, "just in case." Most would not do that so this is good for you, even if you do have issues with abx.

Sounds like the thyroid issue is totally separate. Lyme does hit the thyroid hard, but would not have done so this quickly. I suspect it has attacked my thyroid but I can't find a doctor to help me. I lost 100lbs in 6 months, 70 of that in 3 months. I've lost 10 more since then and eat more than ever. My LLMD found that I make reverse thyroid but that's all. I'm on the list to see an endocrinologist but that's months away.

I'm glad that your happy day will be here soon. But even happier that after 9/15, you can see the LLMD, whichever you have chosen. I hope that you've made the appointment since some of them have long waiting lists and you have early Lyme. I think that most llmds would fit you in since timing is crucial right now! You must have enough of the proper treatment so that you do not get chronic Lyme some day. I had a wonderful life until the nightmare started almost 5 years ago. And despite treatment, I am getting worse.

Again, good luck and if you haven't made an appointment with an LLMD, do so asap and make sure that they know that you were recently bitten so that they can fit you in! And that they can't just prescribe something because you are allergic to most abx.

Rog - I'm so sorry that your daughter has late Lyme. 3 years ago, I spent almost 1 year with constant staph infections, so I understand. It was awful. And her Igenex test came back positive but your LLMD hasn't fit her in yet??? I would be p*ssed off, too!!! Can you get her pediatrician to prescribe something until she can get in? Or did your LLMD prescribe something after the test results came back?

I started this post yesterday morning and didn't realize that I didn't finish it. Please forgive me if I sound jumbled. I am herxing and just a mess!!
