I think you'll be ok going on Friday -- most of us have had Lyme for a really long time (undiagnosed). Just use this time to go through these message boards and start reading about the disease. We are all here to help you -- just ask what you need to know. I have had it 22 years (misdiagnosed) and found out in January. I start treatment on Monday. I wanted to have enough time to really learn about all of this before committing to a certain treatment.

I think we will all agree on one thing... you have to be educated in this b/c chances are, your doctor won't be. It's a very political disease and most doctors are in the dark about how to treat it.

You'll have a mixture of people on here who have gone the conventional route and the alternative route. Different strokes for different folks. But, we all seem to agree that diet, supplements and building your immune system are important.

Sorry about your diagnosis but there are many people living good lives now that have Lyme so don't get discouraged!!

I posted a forum called 'Books for Lymies' on this site - it'll list books that have helped all of us.

Good luck, Johnnysuede23!

I agree with Clayton, waiting until friday is not going to make any difference than going today. I too have had lyme forever, over 20 years also...many of us like Clayton said, have gone undiagnosed for years,... get a list of questions and list of current and past symptoms together for the doctor...is your doctor lyme friendly? if he tells you , you only need a week or two of doxy, RUN , and come here and we'll find you a good doc to get you treatment... take the script he gives you to get started, let us know how it goes

Hi:

Fully agree with Jamie, Run if all they want to give you is 30 days. I have had lyme since July 2007. I found the tick and was very lucky to catch it early. I did abx from July off and on until Oct until mid Dec. I have been on nothing since and feel ok at the moment.

I do have off days, but I'm under a hugh amount of stress at the moment. I also take very good care of myself. You can get this to go into remission at some point and lead a very happy and normal life.

I don't think the jury is still in on "do we get rid of it completely" I don't think anyone really has the answer at this moment.

Waiting until Friday will not hurt you. Good luck.

Julie

p.s. I don't see a LLMD I see my regular doctor who is outstanding in learning all he can about Lyme and helping me

Lyme will not win, we will and we WILL…
