Please, please , please, call if you feel so bad you are desperate to end it. I thought this ought to be posted and stickied here.

My dad put a gun in his mouth and pulled the trigger when I was 9. It didn't kill him. In fact, we could have had 24 hour nursing, and he could have been a vegetable, that still could feel pain! That's what broke my heart, he could still feel pain! But, we pulled the plug.

I understand his desperation, I've been there and tried it a couple of times. I know have 2 young ones, very young. I could never imagine putting them thru what I lived thru. He wasn't at my graduation, not at my wedding, my bulletin read "In loving memory of Marty" , he wasn't there when I got really sick with this disease, to hold me up, he wasn't there to see either of his grandchildren be born. Yes, there is a lot of hell we live thru, but think of all the good we have too. I know, let me repeat that, I KNOW how aweful this is. I know how hard it is to find an ounce of hope in the darkness, I"m living this with all of you. BUT the leading cause of death from LD is suicide. PEOPLE DO GET WELL ALL THE TIME. You must have faith that you will, you must know wihtout a doubt that you will. And you must remember that we are all here together. This is an amazing group of people, I know if one person reached out with a "help me now" message, we would jump on that post as fast as we could. So please, make the post, make the call, don't end it.

Warmest regards,

jaime

That's a great post - thanks, Jaime! I'm sorry you had to go through all of that with your dad, it's very sad. I wish people could really see the real picture of what they are doing to their loved ones before making that decision.

I was researching Lyme in the first few days of being diagnosed - I remember coming across a blog that was all obituaries for Lymies. I was shocked at how many committed suicide.

Sooo sad.

I'm so sorry, too. That is an awful lot for such a young child to be burdened with. You are a very strong person to work through the tough times. I would be a liar if I didn't admit that suicide flitted through my head a time or two. I prayed a whole lot and somehow made it through this Lyme maze. I never gave up or gave in to this horrible monster called Lyme, although some days were much harder than others. That's why I am so dedicated to reaching out and sharing my success. It's out there for all of us to grasp.

Open your mind to the possibilities available to you.

An attitude of gratitude is good 'medicine,' too.

thanks guys. I have been thinking about posting this for a while. I really felt it needed to be here.

Yes, it was increadibly hard loosing my dad, and especially in this way. Anyone who has known me, knows I didn't handle it so well, 20 years later and I'm still affected by it. I understand that we aren't ourselves when we are thinking thoughts like that, I have been there several times. But it doesn't make it any easier to accept when you're looking at a closed casket. I know we're one of the smaller forums, and I would hate for a post for help to go unanswered any longer than 10 minutes, so at least this gives everyone another option.

Please do not take anything I say as medical advice. I am not a doctor.

Dear Connie (and Jaime!),

Thank you for these posts. I am very new to this, although not new to debilitating illness. I got so well for a time (never knowing it was Lyme that had put me in a wheelchair for a time, etc.) that I thought I'd finally healed myself. Now I'm terribly sick and have come to understand Lyme as the constant behind everything that's dogged my health.

This news and all the research I've since done has only made me feel hopeless about the dreams I've hung onto through all the previous trials, like I have nothing to look forward to except a great deal of medication that, so far, has only made me feel worse. I've trying not to become bitter, but I do anyway.

Connie, you say you've had success! Do you mean that you're now well? Can you please share that with me or point me to your story somewhere where I can read it. I have watched countless U-Tube videos, since getting my positive IGM from IGeneX, and nobody seems to be actually getting better...really better. Many still express a great deal of hope, but, in their videos, they just keep losing more and getting sicker. So many just seem to be living in one giant Herx, month after month and year after year. What worked for you?

Thank you for caring about the rest of us and for anything you can share with me about how you got well and what you hung onto along the way.

TEEN SUICIDES

I think everyone living with teens today should be aware of the increases of attempts yearly.

The reason I’m posting this here is because, our types of diseases add to the daily depression of life.

here's a good site:
