I live in SW PA. A little over 2 years ago (Oct. 2005) I returned home from vacation and I had what I thought was a bite and a rash when I woke up the next day. I went to the doctor and I called it a "spider bite." Of course she asked if I had seen the spider which of course I didn't. She gave me Cephalexin and said to take benedryl in case it was an allergic reaction. I took the abx for 7 days although I was to take them for 10. The rash cleared and I had no problems. The bite was on my forearm and was quite small and came to a pussey head. The rash covered my forearm

Back in Aug. of 2007 I had a severe migraine attack unlike anything I have ever had before. I went to doctor and she said I also had a sinus infection which was later confirmed with a ct scan. i was given oral steroids and a steroid injection to stop the migraine and abx for sinus inf. I was put on another abx for sinuses a little later. Saw an ENT doc and sinuses were no better so i had sinus surgery. Shortly after the surgery my symptoms began. It started with some numbness in my legs and eventually spread throughout my entire body in about a 2 week period. I get numbness, tingling and burning sensations all over even in my ears. I also get fatigued easily. I get headaches and muscle aches. I convinced my first neuro doc to do a lyme test and it was neg. I know this sounds crazy but I may had found the possible tick back in 2005 when I had the bite. Since I had woke up with it I was afraid there was a spider in my bed or something and I striped the bed to wash the sheets and I decided to wash the mattress covers also. When I lifted the mattress to remove the cover I spotted a small bug. It was dead. I thought, oh why is that there? Anyway, I got the bug and got on the internet and looked up bed bugs and was satisfied that that wasn't what it was and threw it away. After researching lyme disease recently and seeing the picks of deer ticks I though, oh my god thats what that was! It was very small, did not have wings, and had the black and brown coloration. It was an adult female (if indeed this was a deer tick) since this was in Oct. I looked at it with a magnifying glass so i got a good look at it. Back then (2 years ago) I really knew nothing about lyme or that there was even a certain tick that carried it. I had seen dog ticks before and would have recognized that. I had it in my head it was a spider bite and never mention this little bug to doc as I thought it was nothing. Anyway, my new neuro doc sent me to an ID doc who I think had me not having lyme before I walked in the door due to neg. test. My story meant nothing to him. He said bite sounded like cellulitis & said he never saw a tick bite come to a pussey head before. It could have been cellulitis as I was away and hotels are not exactly germ free. But I can't help remembering that bug I found. I can't say with 100% certainty what it was after 2 years but the pics of deer ticks sure look like what I found.

Anyway, has anyone ever had a known tick bite that came to a pussey head?

My bite was very small and the rash was uniform in color as best I could tell as I was very tan having just come from the beach.

BTW, I have had MRIs of the brain and spinal cord and they don't show anything.

Thanks for any replies.

ok, good news in PA there are a few lyme docs... it sounds as though you have lyme. I don't konw much about the bite coming to a pussey head, maybe someone else will, but it sounds to my like LD. The thing that terrifies me is that you had so much cortisone... that's what set off a bomb in my body basically, and any other lyme whose had it. Lyme tests usually do come back negative, its' more of a clinical diagnosis (based on symptoms) you will find a symptom list on here, copy and paste and print.

The problem with cortisone is that they can reactivate dormant viruses (did in my case and hundreds of others) viruses are VERY dangerous, some even turn into cancer.. so you will need to be tested for viruses ,do some research on them, there are so many you may not even know you have. All they can do is put you on Valtrex or something like it, it doesn't kill it, but stops it from reproducing, and in hopes gets it dormant again...

if you need help finding LLMD in PA let me know thru a PM please.
