isn't Cytomel just t3 or t4? it's not the whole thyroid hormone. I know I took it for a while tyring to boost mine too. I was researching it when I took it, and it can cause heart problems if you take a lot of it....so take it carefully. Hope it works for you!
Please do not take anything I say as medical advice. I am not a doctor.

Thanks for the info, Jamie. I actually went to my local allergist yesterday which is where my first bout of reactivated mono was discovered a year ago. The PA there, who is the person there who seems to be really on top of things, decided to run all the blood tests again, just to see if this a third time around the mono track in a year. Since I'm on the max dose of amoxicillan and will NOT take anything cortisone anything anymore, all she could recommend is that I continue the amoxicillan and get as much rest as possible. I am severely allergic to any sulfa meds so the possibility of throwing in Bactrim is out. So I'm going to concentrate on making sure I get enough rest, hopefully improving in time to travel off to help out when my next grandchild arrives sometime around mid February.

Thanks again for the advise!

Just wanted to share that in this book 'The Top 10 Lyme Disease Treatments' - you should NOT take Amoxicillin. It's a Cell Wall Inhibiting Antibiotic. Borrelia is a bacteria that does not have to live with a cell wall and it is actually facilitated and bolstered by those antibiotics. Spirochetes are the only form of the bacteria that can be killed by the amoxicillin - the other forms will thrive.

Get that book I mentioned - it gave me more info in 2 chapters than a weeks worth of research on the internet!

Unfortunately, there is a LONG list of meds we should never take -- all penicillins are a NOOOO.

Both times my kids have been treated for Lyme they have been on Amoxcicillin. I think that is very common to use treating kids with Lyme. Anyone out there who has been prescribed any other antibiotics to young children or who know anything about this? Is there a better option?
