MDJunction to me

"When I first came to MDJ, I was in a very dark place, and feeling quite alone, I don't know how I found this site, but I have been very grateful ever since, all of you have offered insight to the illness of Bipolar and the other things going on with me, being here has allowed me to find friends, and to feel safe in discussing things that I would never have shared before.

I believe it has also offered me the chance to reach out and help others. A simple Thank you, is all that I have to offer, to this site and to the wonderful people here.

A bit of history.

I'm here because I "think" I might have lyme. Well, I am actually, *hoping* I do. 6 weeks after the birth of my 2 child, I woke up with the worst headache of my life and 8 weeks later, I still have it along with black spots in 1 eye and a stiff neck. I have been hospitalized 3 times for it. Have received the DHE treatment, 2 MRI's,1 MRA, 1 cat scan, 2 spinal taps (1 was containminated and they thought I had mennigitis and they realized after the CDC was called that I didn't have it) and a blood patch. Currently I am being treated as if I am a migraine patient, however, the medication doesn't work. I have researched and researched and came across info that suggests that I could have lyme. Believe it or not, I hope I do because at least there's treatment options.

I went to my primary doc yesterday for the test yesterday but I see that the basic test can yield a negative result. So, I would like to go see a LLMD but I can't find one in the ATLANTA GEORGIA area. Anyone have a list of docs that don't follow the CDC protocall for testing?

I have to get rid of this headache, spots and neck pain and the neurologists are real quick just to tell me it's a migraine that will go away in a few months.

I'm at my wits end.....please help!

Hi and welcome,

I'm sorry you are feeling so awful. I live in the Atlanta area and have recently been given a list of LLMD's in the area, but IDK how to give it you without getting your e-mail address. If you want to PM me your e-mail addy, I'd be glad to send the attachment to you.

I have been officially diagnosed with fibro/CFS, and am searching for an LLMD myself to see if this is actually Lyme. Perhaps we can help each other?

Jen

Just because it's impossible doesn't mean it can't happen.

I'm not a doc, so anything I say is my opinion only. Nothing I say is meant as offense, I offer what I can as help.

I believe in educating myself on all my medical issues and being my own advocate, for no one else with do that on my behalf. I recommend we all do the same!

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Perhaps I truly am insane for expecting these docs to listen to me when I say the same things repeatedly to no avail? LOL. I am tired of seeking out new docs and getting the same result time and again...Forgive me if I seem bitter some days.

Ramilin, welcome.

I'm sure Jaime or others can direct you to an LLMD in your (general) area.

If you're interested in natural alternatives, there's a clinic not far from you that people are having good results with. (If I'm not well in 6 months on antibiotics, I'm headed over there myself.) ConnieD, Clayton, AnnF can/will give you info on that, I think.

Again, welcome. Hope you're able to get some help soon. Sounds like you are really suffering, and with a new baby, too. Blessings.
