MDJunction to me

"When I first came to MDJ, I was in a very dark place, and feeling quite alone, I don't know how I found this site, but I have been very grateful ever since, all of you have offered insight to the illness of Bipolar and the other things going on with me, being here has allowed me to find friends, and to feel safe in discussing things that I would never have shared before.

I believe it has also offered me the chance to reach out and help others. A simple Thank you, is all that I have to offer, to this site and to the wonderful people here.

Hi I am new here. I need so much direction right now, forgive me for being so needy.

First I need a Lymes specialist if anyone knows one anywhere from Tucson to Phoenix. Phoenix is a tad close, Tucson is fine for the right dr.

I currently see one, have been told that he drained their pockets with IV therapy and they still are sick after many many years.

I am on my way to the dr today to get my test results and treatment options. I would love to have help once I get these on treatment options advise.

I'm grateful to have found this forum, hope I can sort all of this out. My adrenals are failing and my DO is telling me it's from the Lymes. I don't know that I can "completely" agree with him at this point. He isn't interested at ALL in discussing my adrenals, get's sacastic when I do. He's old and cranky, but if he can help me recover this, I can tolerate him. I went through years of stress with my thyroid spinning out of control, then it was RAI and mismanaged causing major stress. I couldn't breath, was put on benzodiazepines, then became chemically dependent, did an 18 months very stressful (worse thing EVER) and instead of getting better, I just keep getting more and more fatigued. I had my adrenals tested with salavia to find they are very sick as well. I am 2 years out of that taper, but I am so very sick. My mental is strong and good, but the anxiety and fatigue are over the top. Have made many changes in my life to take care of myself, now need help with this Lymes and adrenals, etc. treatment.

I also have Candida and it seems to be very much right now. I am taking a lot of B's so am feeding it well. I can provide all my test results when I get back today, I had many. This guy is supposed, or he says he is the best. He has talkeda and talked about vit therapy, cash treatments.

I am BROKE now. Any treatment i have will have to be charged, so I have to make WISE decisions!

I thank anyone in advance for any help.

Scoobie,

First of all, welcome.

You have said the right things so far. Get your test results and see what they say...we'll deal with them when you have them in hand.

You can post them here if you want, and I'm sure many will chime in. I'll keep an eye out for you post.

Try to relax and don't get too stressed. Easier said than done, I know, but you have friends here.

Tom

My husband and I are being treated for late stage neurological lyme's. Our LLMD said it was the lyme that shut down my husband's adrenals and was wondering if it was the reason I went into early menapause at the age of 42 (when we lived in NY). Our LLMD has guided us well along the road to recovery. So I responded just to let you know there are other talented LLMD's who agree that lyme's affects adrenals

a good book w/ adrenal info: Adrenal Fatigue, THe 21st Century Stress Syndrome. did not see the word lyme in it but it is very informative,361 pages on what it is & how you can recover.

I have the book because my son at 15 had low cortisol...long story short it did a domino effect on his body. he became ill 2 weeks after a tick bite & was ill for over 2 yrs (my diagnosis was a blessing(&a curse) by me finally putting the puzzle pieces together for my son & helped my son finding a LLD(in MO) that did western blot on him& put him on doxycycline for 2 months. he slowly has gotten better)he had a problem with candida in his intestines, digestive problems reminciant of celiac (he followed gluten free diet awhile) and then had bad pancititus (that finally got the local drs attention). the candida can turn very serious please get it under control & that will help you feel better too. anyway i do believe there could very well be a conection with adrenals. my sons has gotten better,it takes a while. not a doc just went through it with my son.Hope this info helps.

Thank you both of you for your posts! IT's nice to have someone listening to you. This is terribly confusing, all of it.

I do have a very bad case of Candida, and will be taking 2 anti-biotic, one for the fungus and the other the infection it has caused. Also pro-biotics and Capryl, and I guess lots of yogurt.

We went over all the test, and frankly my head is swimming in info over load. We just focused on the infections and fungus'.

I do have Lymes according to the Western Blot. I will treat this first and then discuss treatment for the Lymes. I can't handle this all at once, and am sure my body chemistry can't either.

To the gal with the son with Lymes, bless his heart, so very young to have so much trouble, so glad you are a good mother and help him. I have Dr. Wilson's book and it's been my Bible for the last 2 months. I take all the recommended supplements, etc. And have changed my "response" to many stressors greatly. Anxiety has eaten me alive.

When I can figure out all the test and paper work I have, I will post more about my test results. It was a very long appt, and much of which I did not understand. I wish he had written out in layman's terms what all is going on.

Again, MANY thanks for this support, I value it.
