MDJunction to me

"All I can say is that this has been the best place ever. It has been six to seven months since I joined, and I have learned so much. I now believe in myself and accept myself on a completely different level. The people on MDJunction has been so supportive and accepting that I have been able to adopt it into my personal life. That has reduced a lot of stress in my life. Thanks to all." (bunnyfly)

I was just diagnosed with Chronic Lyme Disease by IgeneX Labs in CA. If been to a new GP in my area because I didn't have one and he ordered a co-infection panel and is waiting for the results to send me to an Infectious Disease Specialist. I'm really scared because I have heard that the treatment is horrible and most of the time doesn't work. I've already been told that I will need IV antibiotics which I don't think I can afford, although my Rx plan said they would cover Rocephin that is apparently widely used for IV therapy. I need to hear about people's treatments and and success stories. There aren't many on the board which is REALLY scaring me. PLEASE HELP!

I'm one in a way. Please read my profile. I was so sick I wanted to die and I really thought I was going to. It took me from July 2007 until Feb of this year to feel a little better, each month got better and better. I never had to do the IV...

As of today, I'm at 85%. I do still feel the effects of lyme as I don't think we ever get rid of this, but it can go into remission.

This will also happen to you, it might take a while, but you will get there.

Keep your chin up, keep the faith and know you will beat this, lyme will not win, you will..

Hugs

Hello Wolfpak and welcome!

First of all I think it is great that you posted your lyme diagnosis on your fibro forum. A lot of us feel like the fibro people really have lyme. It is a scary diagnosis however but a least there are treatment options. Educate yourself as much as possible in all the treatment options. Some have improved with conventional antibiotics and some with alternative treatments and some do a combination of both. I have chosen the alternative route and I am improving after only two months of treatment.

Good luck and take care,

Denise

I have experience with someone who does both the conventional and the natural routes for LD treatment. J is on 2g rocephin a day, along with probably 15 or 20 supplements 2x/day, and LOTS of live culture yogurt. The good news is that while there are lots of days he feels pretty crappy, I've been noticing an upswing in his energy lately. The probiotics/supplements really helped with the herx rxns. He hasn't herx'd yet on the IV abx, but he's only been on those about 3 weeks. He didn't at all with the orals, though the 3 week cycle of LD was REALLY noticeable. One week, he'd hardly be able to get out bed, then two weeks later, he could conquer the world. He's got an amazing LLMD in CA, who prescribes both the abx and lots of supplements.

There is hope. We (myself included) just have to remember that.
