Hello,

Will drinking a gallon or 2 of spring water daily, help in accelerating the process of eliminating the buggers out of my body?

And will drinking "yogi detox herbal" tea [between antibiotics] HELP further in flushing ALL or ANY of these bugs OUT of my system please??

Thank you so much for any advice/info, thanks again

Hello....

I was advised by my ND to drink water purified by reverse osmosis. I'm not sure if it matters, that's just what was recommended for me.

I have some of the very same tea....I couldn't tell a difference. Maybe I didn't drink enough? I don't know. Now, I drink four cups of green tea per day. I just stick with what I like as far as tea is concerned. Green tea supposedly has a natural antibiotic effect, too. I sweeten my tea with stevia.

There are other posts on detox ,too. You can type in detox in the search box in the upper right hand corner and old posts will appear. There may be something in those posts that you will find helpful. I remember a thread that got a lot of posts about supporting detox. If you still have more questions and want more suggestions, just bring it up again .

Please do not take anything I say as medical advice. I am not a doctor.

Open your mind to the possibilities available to you.

An attitude of gratitude is good 'medicine,' too.

I had a reverse osmosis filtration system put in my kitchen. Before I was diagnosed, I was reading on mercola.com suggestions for improving overall health and filtered water was one of them...(I also use a filter in the shower. I would've have loved to have a whole-house filtration system put in but that's major bucks.)

There's even controversy about how much water is "good" for you. I drink it with every meal, when I'm actually thirsty (or trying not to snack unhealthfully), extra if I'm exercising. I also drink green tea, but as Connie said, mainly for the many health benefits (but if it detoxes, all the better.)

You'll get almost as many ways to "detox" as there are ways to treat Lyme, lol. Here's a couple of overall things I did: the water filtration, stopped the chemical sprays (had Terminix, now use a "natural" company) changed all my cleaning products to non-toxic, as well as all personal care products, including make-up, switched to primarily organic diet, added lots of detoxing-type supplements, have done infrard sauna treatments (if you're well enough, exercise to sweat), hot epsom salt or detoxifying herb baths. I'm sure there's other things as well, but can't remember right now. Just remember that we're bombarded with toxic exposure all the time, do what you can to lessen the load while builing up your immune system. And there are many "detox" kits (supplement regimens) as well, but check with your doctor that they're compatible with whatever treatment plan you're on. Hope this helps a little.

Good idea Peg,the reverse osmosis,I have been drinking RO water now for 20 yrs or so.The only thing that gets through the membrane is the pure water molecule so the minerals we will not be getting from the water now have to be replaced.Thats one thing i have not researched.Probably most of them can be obtained from greens.I am thinking electrolytes ...wonder if you can buy the human stuff somewhere? I know its readily available for livestock.

Now thats smart thinking..getting rid of all the toxic stuff in the house.I use to work as a process operator in a oil refinery making gasoline. What a toxic job that was! I use to inject lead into leaded gasoline etc. even manganese into unleaded gasoline as a octane booster. Now i can not stand the smell of 1 drop of gas or even engine exhaust,Lyme has made me very sensitive to chemicals.if i go near anyone wearing perfume i go numb..i mean really sick..instant headache nausea the works.

I think it's possible to drink too much water. Along with toxins you could be eliminating minerals and vitamins.

Lymph massage helped me a lot. And exercises too can keep the lymph system working well. Those rebounders, like mini trampolines are supposed to be really good and rocking chairs are good too if the rebounder is too much. A simple thing to do is stand and gently swing your arms back and forth, twisting the spine.

Your digestion is important too. I think if your digestion and your lymph system aren't working right then nothing will really help. Just my thoughts on it.

I drink probably close to a gallon of water a day. Your body will eliminate what's not needed so I don't think your flushing away anything good. If your body doesn't need it it will remove it so more water is not going to remove things your body requires.

Along with water I do a detox bath once a week. If you can get a bath filter to remove the chlorine all the better. You can a bath ball for about $60.00. I don't have one yet but I am getting one.

http://www.inspiredliving.com/cuzn-water-filtration/bath- water-filter.htm

As far as ingredients in the detox bath they are as follows.

* Two cups of Epsom salt

* Two cups of Hydrogen Peroxide

* One cup of baking soda

* Firm bristle brush for rubbing the skin and opening up your pores

* 4 capfuls of some nice smelling oils (strictly for effect no health benefit really just makes the water smell nice and softer)

* A couple of candles, once again for atmosphere since I will be in there for a while may as well try and relax.

* Some music or sometimes I will read to pass the time.

I for one am not a big bath person I like showers but I am trying everything to get rid of these little bastards. Make the water as hot as you can tolerate, obviously don't burn yourself. Before you jump in get your brush and in a circular motion from head to toe brush your skin this will open up your pores and you will get the exfoliation benefit. Now soak for a minimum of 20 minutes 40 minutes is better. Within the first 2-3 minutes you will start to sweat this will release toxins.

Good article on detox bath benefits.

http://www.pureinsideout.com/detox-bath.html

I also drink about 4 cups of green tea as well but I am thinking about getting this in pill form specifically TeGreen by Pharmanex.

Other than the Lyme disease which is enough...my overall health has been real good since I contracted Lyme. I know it sounds silly but my weight is better my blood pressure dropped significantly and I am more aware of things that I put in or on my body.

I even eliminated the under arm deodorant that I use and use a natural arm deodorant which works great called Tom's of Maine deodorant. Link here: http://www.tomsofmaine.com/ Plenty of stores carry it.

I haven't gone all the way organic just because of price I'm about half way there as far as organic foods are concerned.

Well, hopefully when we all get through this crap and come out on the other side we will be better of physically.

It's been a struggle but I refuse to let these friggin things rule my life. I am going to whatever I can to be well.

I thought of a few other "detoxing" kinds of things.

I no longer use the microwave. I won't go into what I've read, (and I'm sure there's folks to refute it), but I don't think it's particulary healthy (mho). I want it out of my house but before I knew about the harmful effects, when we needed a new one, dh bought this expensive gargantuan thing (and we've got a tiny kitchen, grrr---he's not allowed to make those kind of purchases without me anymore, lol), and I think he'll be upset if I get rid of it (even though I don't use it anymore).

When we're able to afford it, (when I go back to work), we are going to pull up all the carpeting in the house. A) it's ugly, it's a mold, mildew, allergy, chemical trap. When we re-paint, I'm going to buy eco-friendly stuff---in fact, when I re-decorate in general I plan to go as "green" as makes sense. (I need to buy a handbook, like "Going Green," or something, soon.)

I also worry about Electromagnetic fields (EMF's), and I now use a special headset when using my cell phone, always use the laptop on a hard surface, not my lap. This area is controversial, too, but there are enough folks "in the know" who say these can be dangerous, if exposure is long-term. So I figure a few simple changes that don't inconvenience me much can't hurt, could help.

Heavy metals can wreak havoc on your system too. I was tested but haven't gotten my results back yet, but if it's necessary, my doc offers chelation therapy. I use the aluminum-free deodorant, also. (Can't get dh to use it cuz it doesn't stop the wetness (as anti-perspirant does) just the odor.) It's another issue that's controversial, but I prefer to err on the side of caution. (Aluminum is linked to cancer and Alzheimer's.) And I rarely use aluminum foil, use parchment paper, mostly.

I also try to avoid carcinogens by cooking meat slowly at a lower temperature--don't barbecue too much anymore.

Yeah, you can kind of go a little crazy, so I just try to make simple changes, here and there. I don't believe our bodies were designed to deal with epxosure to all these (mostly man-made) chemicals. And if you're immune system is weak, (and/or you're ill with something like Lyme), these toxins just add to the burden. That's why the natural approach stresses detoxing, lessening the chemical load, strengthening the immune system, in order to get well. And it makes sense to me.

Oh yeah, I thought of another. We don't use much plastic anymore, either. Not good for the environment, obviously, but also some contain chemicals that leach into the food or drink it contains. We use glassware, mostly. (There are some plastics that are ok, do your own research, lol.)

Oh, and those non-stick pans? Not good. They also contain chemicals that leach into the food as you cook it.

As I said, you really could drive yourself crazy, but dh and I are just making changes here and there, as we go along. (I met him later in life and I want to spend as much quality time with him as I can---so I wanna be healthy into my 80's or 90's, if possible. So if I can just get rid of this dadgum Lyme....)

Drinking that much water is dangerous.

It can lead to a condition known as proteinruria. This condition causes your blood to become diluted, and therefore causes vascular damage to the kidneys, heart and liver.

You get water from foods you eat as well as other beverages you drink. You do not have to add too much more water. It is a big myth that you need to drink 8 glasses of water a day. I have mentioned this in other posts.

As I have said before, your body is smart. If you are thirsty, get a drink. Otherwise, don't force yourself to drink more than is necessary.
