"I just found out my 13 year old had lyme disease," (awhaley)

MDJunction to me

"All I can say is that this has been the best place ever. It has been six to seven months since I joined, and I have learned so much. I now believe in myself and accept myself on a completely different level. The people on MDJunction has been so supportive and accepting that I have been able to adopt it into my personal life. That has reduced a lot of stress in my life. Thanks to all." (bunnyfly)

Well, I went back to my Doctor for my Igenex test review and my first Rochephin IV. Last December I walked away from treatment after 1.5 years of oral antibiotics. I tested positive to 8 bands (and Babesiosis) on my Igenex test at my sickest and last December I still was positive on 5 bands. I needed to detox... didn't know if I was sick from lyme or antibiotics anymore.

After 6 months of no antibiotics I knew I felt stong enough to get back on treatment. I still had lots of neurological symptoms. So I got my Igenex results back last Friday I was only positive on 2 bands! I still have neurological symptoms, but I am so happy that I continued to get better even without treatment. I didn't expect it at all.

I started my first IV of Rocephen (Sp?) in his office Friday to see my reaction. I started feeling a little headachey and my brain fog got worse about halfway thru 2 grams. I started to get nervous that I was going to have bad herx (but hey at least it's working right?). I drank some green tea and felt a little better. Came home, slept a little because I was tired and woke up feeling AMAZING. I felt so much better than I had in almost years. The last time I felt that good was on my bicillin injections.

It was as though the heavy black coccoon was lifted off of me. Hard to explain. I still had my brain fog, but I felt so good physically. Slept great Friday night, Saturday felt good most of the day. Had random joint pain jumping around (sharp, short and intense), but nothing like some of my severe herxs. I am CRAVING another IV, I go back on Wed. for another dose until we can get homecare set up and I can do the IV 4 days a week (twice a day).

Did anyone else feel great right after IV rocephin? It's funny that my herxs have alwasys been worse with oral abx than with IM or IV. I'm sure it varies. My LLMD told me that I would either feel awesome or like crap afterwards. I'm glad I didn't feel like crap. I'm not saying I felt like my old self, but I felt better than I had in a long time... despite the mild headaches following and sporadic joint pain.

Well, better run to bed and rest my body.

Hope you all have a great week!

Thanks for sharing some good news with us, Juelz.

It sounds like you've found the right antibiotic for you. It also sounds like your immune system took care of some 'business' , too.

I can't comment on how I felt on any antibiotic regimen, sorry. I only took natural antibiotics which seem to be very different from conventional antibiotics. For me, the herxes weren't horrible. When I had too much Samento, I would get headaches(bad), profound fatigue, and muscle aches. I never got twitchy. Maybe that's just me, I don't know.

I'm glad things are going well for you. Keep taking good care of yourself.

Peace,

Connie

Please do not take anything I say as medical advice. I am not a doctor.

Open your mind to the possibilities available to you.

An attitude of gratitude is good 'medicine,' too.
