I have found out I had Lyme Disease 3 months ago, got it treated with three weeks of antibiotics, but am still feeling neuro-Lyme symptoms.

With that said, I have two questions:

1.) I never had a rash that I noticed, nor did I ever find a tick, so I was wondering: can ticks survive for long periods of time if they are not removed?

2.) I have been reading up on Lyme, but I am unsure as to what may have caused my last symptoms... Was it likely that taking the antibiotics caused the bacteria to release neurotoxins that effected me?

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Jared

Hi Jared,

Welcome. I never had a rash nor did I see a tick bite. 50 % of all patients dont get a rash.

What were your latest symptoms?

Recently I have been dissociated from my own personal experience, felt detached from the right side of my body, had very high sensitivity to foods (perceived hypoglycemia/hyperglycemia), lack of digestion (fatty stools), heart palpitations and panic attacks, and sensitivity to temperature [to name a few haha].

I had all the same feelings..Once I started treatment those feeling went away little by little. I only had lyme that I know of...I had all co-infections tests all negative except for PAST exposure to Bart, but most people that own pets are exposed to bart sometime in there life...

First of all - 3 weeks is not enough treatment...

How long were you sick before you were treated? Have you thought back to the months before you developed symptoms that prompted the Lyme treatment...

bare in mind - all biting insects have the POTENTIAL to carry Lyme & Co...so you could have been bitten by something other then a tick...

And not all get the bulls eye rash...some get other type of rashes - some (like myself) got Hives...and others have no external signs at all...

What you need to do at this point...is get with an LLMD - and get tested for co-infections...altho Lyme and Co-infections are clinically diagnosed as the tests are not 100% accurate...

You can go to www.igenex.com and order the test kits...

PM me with your location and how far you can travel and I will help you find a lyme doc...

I think I was feeling strange for a few weeks and then I got a positive test. I am thinking now that the neurotoxins that were released when killing the lyme bacteria was what has caused my current symptoms.

I have an appointment for a LLMD in my area, but not until December. I have a neurologist appointment soon, so I hope they might provide some help. I'm trying to contact more LLMD's a little further away to see if I can get an earlier appointment.

What is BART?

And if it is BART, what do I do in the meantime? Should I still excercise?
