"I think I may have lyme disease, going to be tested. Even if I don't I can never..." (marley)

MDJunction to me

"When I first came to MDJ, I was in a very dark place, and feeling quite alone, I don't know how I found this site, but I have been very grateful ever since, all of you have offered insight to the illness of Bipolar and the other things going on with me, being here has allowed me to find friends, and to feel safe in discussing things that I would never have shared before.

I believe it has also offered me the chance to reach out and help others. A simple Thank you, is all that I have to offer, to this site and to the wonderful people here.

hey friends, I got my picture on here finally....just had to laugh, becuase it was recently taken, my 4 year old was playing with my camera phone at the beach...don't I just look like a normal person! haha. I know we all get that all the time.... can't see it on the outside, what can possibly be wrong, right? aside from the 60 symptoms I have on the inside!

It's a beautiful picture. My daughters are also very comlimentary of your picture. I told my husband that I felt bad yesterday. He was amazed at how "good" I looked. He does realize what a problem that is for us lymies. It's hard for most doctors to believe we are so sick. I think we are all just putting our best foot forward and smiling through the pain. If they only knew.

Open your mind to the possibilities available to you.

An attitude of gratitude is good 'medicine,' too.

That's from a camera phone? Looks like a professional photo - your kiddo might have a future as a photographer. It's a great pic!

I feel that one of our biggest battles, is the fact that we don't have symptoms that affect our outside. People seem to be more interested in a disease if they can see suffering on the outside!

How do we invite them inside our bodies?

The almighty saying "but you look good"!

I think Mary McDonnell did a good job explaining things in her speech to Columbia - you can find it on YouTube or look for the one Lime posted on MD Junction. I think that's the first time some people I know 'got it' - at least got a grasp of what it is like.

did Mary Mcdonnell say she had L.D.?

I remember she said she knew some hurting with L.D.

Wishing William Shatner was doing representation for us

He rules!!!!

James Spader wouldn't be too bad either.

Frazier be okay too.

Are there any guys besides that Bush guy. Oh yeah, we can

get the guy that looks like "W"....

I definately think that people in society want to see other people suffering and they base the amount of support they give on how sickly the person appears to be. Event my own family treats me differently on an everyday basis compared to wrhen I am in the hospital with tubes hanging out of me.I do it sometimes to , but now I catch myself. I believe that Chevy Chase and Daryl Hall(of Hall and Oates) both have Lyme. I know , I actually wrote a paper in college about Michael J. Fox and the fact that when he goes in front of congress he consciously stops taking his medications so he looks extra sick and shakes much more for them, because he knows that that is what they want to see

wow, I had no diea that CHevy Chase had LD, heard about Daryl Hall. And did you know that Michael J Fox had Lyme before his parkensins?? they say that parkensins is untreated LD! He had a lousy doctor, poor guy... a friend of mine knows someone who saw the same doctor M J Fox did and talked him out of lyme, when this guy most certainly has it.... but because Fox saw this doctor he belived he must be good...what a shame.

Thanks for the compliments on the picture, haha, yes, my 4 year seems to always be taking the greatest pics!

Not looking sick on the outside is the worst thing about this. I have friends that wonder if I am faking or lying about the symptoms that I am having. Today has been the most painful day that I have had in a long time. I feel sorry for my co-workers having to put up with me. I am really irritable so am being quiet and I think they know what is going on. I guess symptoms like that are the only ones that show on the outside but then anyone can have a bad day. I hope that all involved in this have a good weekend.
