"Lyme Awareness" (karazon)

MDJunction to me

"MDJunction to me is a life saver... when i first was diagnosed with Scheuermann's Disease i wrote a message to a page i found on google, hoping that they could help me.... you'd never know it but that weird feeling (you know that one where it feels like someone actually cares) came over me when i opened my email next day to find that someone on the other side of the world (at the American Medical Library)had read my message while i was sleeping, and there low and behold was the address to MDJunction.... well it is everything to me, i live it breathe it and love it!!!!! I have found many people who are struggling with similar issues banding together to help each other. It is the best place in the world, and i couldn't think of another place to go to meet so many lovely people....

thanks MDJunction

Hi everybody,

Can anyone tell me how to determine what stage of Lyme I'm in? I guess that I've had Lyme (untreated and undiagnosed for 4 or 5 years...had a bulls' eye rash and summertime flu). The strange thing is that I'm not particularly sick. In fact, I received a diagnoses kind of coincidentally. My sister was very ill and was diagnosed with Lyme (untreated and undiagnosed for about 10 years). I requested a Lyme test from my sister's doctor and it was positive. I have a lot of symptoms it's just that they're not particularly pronounced or debilitating. In fact, I had told my LLMD that I never would have gone to the doctor for any of the symptoms...they all just seemed like little normal body "quirks" to me. I asked my doctor what stage I'm in and she said "probably stage 2, but maybe stage 3". How do you know for sure? Can you have Lyme for as long as I've had it and only be stage 2 or is that not possible and I'm definitely stage 3? My doctor says I'm lucky because my body seems to have been handling Lyme fairly well (she says I have a strong immune system). Oh, by the way, I also have babesiosis and ehrlichia. Any input would be great. I guess the reason I care so much what stage I'm in is because I'd like to get a better feel for what my prognosis might be. I've been reading things that say stage 2 can still be curable, but stage 3 is much harder to get rid of/treat.
