I am currently on treatment for Lyme and Bartonella. I have been on several different medications for these infections since May 2007. To say that I feel much better now, than I did this time last year would be an understatement. I have went from near death, to a some what near normal existence. I still am not able to work full time, which is a bit depressing for me, but I am currently able to work part-time. This has helped get me out of the house, and to take my mind off of the situation.

I am currently on the following medications and supplements: Minocycline 200mg/day, Doxycycline 100mg/ day, Rifampin 600mg/day, Milk Thistle 200mg/day, Alpha Lipoic Acid 400mg/day, Theralac probiotic, NT Factor Energy, Klonopin 1.25mg/day, Zoloft 12.5mg/day, Levoxyl 0.075mcg/day, Vitamin B-12 injections 3x/week, Bicillin 1.2 mu 2x/week and Diflucan 200mg every other week.

I am not sure how this compares to everyone else's treatment. I feel a bit over medicated, but at the same time, I am not certain that the combinations, or dosages are where they need to be to eradicate these infections. I would like your feedback. I currently feel better, but I am still not symptom free. The majority of my persistent symptoms are neurological.

I believe the next step in my treatment will be IV Rocephin. I am not sure that this is the path that I need to go, but if it helps I am pretty much game for anything.

I also would like feedback on any special diets that are being prescribed for Lyme. I have underwent food allergy testing, but it did not reveal any significant allergies. I know that there are special diets out there, but I just do not know which foods to incorporate or eliminate.

I just want to do everything I can to beat this. I know that it is possible. I just want all of the information and help that I can get to make it possible, and in return hopefully help someone else out there in the same situation.

Sorry, for the novel. I am just needing some clarity and support from those that are going through this horrible infestation. Thank you for your time and help!!! God Bless!!!

I'm gonna going to be a great help right at the moment but I've been told by several doctors and even by a therapist I saw for a long time who had a doctorate in nutrition and cellular biology, you just have to experiment and listen to your body and find what food make you feel better. I've found with myself that I don't test positive for any allergies at all but there are several things I react to. I've found for me I have to severely limit sugar, glutens (especially oats and whole wheat products), and meats. I stick to lean meats and nuts and eggs as well as lots of fruits and veggies. I just make sure I get the nutrition I need through other foods (like iron from green leafy veggies instead of oats) or from vitamins and hope you keep seeing improvement.

I hope that helps.

Smee: I've just had an apostrophe.
Captain Hook: I think you mean an epiphany.
Smee: No... lightning has just struck my brain.
Captain Hook: Well, that must hurt.
