MDJunction to me

carmen33"When I first came to MDJ, I was in a very dark place, and feeling quite alone, I don't know how I found this site, but I have been very grateful ever since, all of you have offered insight to the illness of Bipolar and the other things going on with me, being here has allowed me to find friends, and to feel safe in discussing things that I would never have shared before.

I believe it has also offered me the chance to reach out and help others. A simple Thank you, is all that I have to offer, to this site and to the wonderful people here.

Can someone please explain to me what happens with the thyroid when one has Lyme Disease?

My test results for TSH went from 4.37 (borderline high) in August to 10.61 (very high) in September (just one month it jumped that much)!

Are there natural things I can be doing to help keep my thyroid healthy? I've been gaining weight, too, even though my diet is *extremely* healthy. Sad

Love,

Wendi

Hi Wendi

I have to be really quick...but understand that Lyme can effect the entire endocrine system...including shutting it down completely...

How exactly it effects it - I just dont know the science - but it can heavily tax the thyroid and adrenals...

Read this - http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/lyme-disease/

Sorry I dont have more time and links...but this should get you started...

Thanks, Christine!

Maybe others will chime in with more info, as well.

Love,
