Hello, not sure if it's "common" or "rare" for one to have an outburst of some strain of candida due to antibiotics. You know how you read a million stuff online and cannot get a clear answer? Anyway, believe I've many symptoms for this, that's why it's imperative to have given up sugar/carbs of course.

Will go to a Lyme SPECIALIST {supposedly "the best" they say in this area} I go this Thursday morning but honestly am scared. JUst scared he'll find all this stuff wrong w/me and I doN'T want anymore antibiotics, but someone on here I think said he'd probably prescribe a dfferent type of med [non anti-biotic medication] *sigh* Wassat

BTW took probiotics b4, during and after the doxy was taking last yr. Was pretty consistent w/it daily for atleast 3 months, and mostly kept it up even after that. ANd later switched to a diff type.

IF you had candida, did it take you 4-12 months to get rid of it?

I've been on a 6-week program to get rid of Candida that I've had for years and didn't know it. I was on a restricted diet and capsules before meals. It worked wonders for me. Now I've been diagnosed with Lyme. I'll defeat this, too, with God's help.

Diet is a big thing here...

But there are naturals that you can take for Candida - Cumanda works well..

There are natural abx that you can take too...

Dont get worried, listen to what he has to say, and simply explain that you would prefer to go natural if that is possible and if that is what you want to do...I can help you find some different options...

I was on abx treatment for 12 yrs straight - and was on Diflucan for a year for moderate Candida - while on a cocktail of abx...but at that time I was not controlling the diet...which is very important...

Each person will take their own time in getting rid of this too

I always go natural. The Lord and I, using natural things, defeated cancer 22 years ago--no remission stuff. I am cancer free and will stay that way.

I've always been seemingly healthy and pay close attention to my health, that's why this Lyme thingy took me by surprise. I've got a good doctor, though. He has explained things to me, and I trust him.

I must confess here that some of the abbreviations used in some of these posts confuse me. What is abx?

Sorry, I don't think I addressed your question.

I was on herbs for the candida, not antibiotics. It was a candida-free program prescribed by my doctor. It was easy; just the restricted diet was hard for me (no coffee, no sugar, nothing that turns to sugar like breads, no cheese, no mushrooms, no peanuts, no cold cuts, no starchy veges, no fruit or fruit juice, no milk, no grains, no dill pickles, sauerkraut, mustard, mayonnaise, soda, or alcohol (don't do this anyway). After 6 weeks, I felt so much better, it was amazing!
