Has anyone noticed certain symptoms such as high tolerance for pain meds (I have absolutely no reaction to narcotics) or an increase in various infections. I understand with a weakened immune system it's easy to get things like respiratory infections but what about skin infections? It seems like anytime I get even the tiniest cut it bleeds for hours, becomes infected and scars. This has mostly just been in the past few years and I've extremely careful not to take blood thinners since the discovery of internal hemorrhoids and know that couldn't be the cause for the bleeding and know it's been a recent development so surely it's not a bleeding disorder. Any thoughts? I'll probably be asking many questions as I'm new to all of this and very eager for knowledge.

It is common for narcotics to be required in higher and higher amounts. I was able to knock my pain down from a 10 to about a 5 or 6 with Lorset Plus and ultram (in combination). It could even be that your pain is worse than when you started narcotics. Lyme doesn't get better on its own.

The bleeding episodes need to be checked out by your doctor. Personally, I can't comment on that. I'm worried about you, though. Others will be along that may able to comment on your bleeding.

Have you read any books about lyme? There's a thread on here about recommended books to read. Your library may even have some of them.

This site has a lot of experience and a lot of knowledgable members who are happy to share with you, so ask away.

Please do not take anything I say as medical advice. I am not a doctor.

Open your mind to the possibilities available to you.

An attitude of gratitude is good 'medicine,' too.

As I said I'm new to this and haven't read any books yet on Lyme though I'm looking into buying some, looking at "Healing Lyme". I have done a lot of internet based research though including looking now at Chinese medication. I will definitely check with my doctor though, right now they're just concerned more about losing use of my right side. Already though I've found a great deal of help and support here and it has helped me very much. I don't feel so alone in it now.
