I saw the ID doctor. Nice man. Spent about one hour with me going over everything.

So far here is what he said:

He does suspect lyme, he also thinks the thyroid is making me feel some of what I feel also, but not all of it. He did not put me on anything yet as he ran 12 different blood test. After he gets them back HE will de-senstize me for drugs for lyme. He said I'm allergic to to much to just play around with any pill and hope it works. He said if I do have lyme it will take months and months to get rid of...GREAT. He will also work with the thyroid doctor. I told him the numbness in my feet and hands has gotten worse each day. He did not like that. Here is what he ordered, not sure what some of it is.

West Niles Virus AB, Blood -Know what that is

Lyme diease AB-Know what that is

CBC w/ differential - Know what that is

Thyroxine, Free, BL - NO IDEA

Comp metablic panel, BL - NO IDEA

Q Fever antiobody, BL -NO IDEA

UA w/ reflexive culture, UR - NO IDEA

Culture, bacterial, BLOOD-NO IDEA

C-Reactive Protein (CRP)-NO IDEA

Westerngren Sed Rate, BL - NO IDEA

He said he will have them back in a week. Then he said if the lyme comes back negative he will sent it to the lab in CA, I showed him the paper work and he fully agreed to it. He said to go with the basic lyme test and then if that comes back from CA positive then he will do the co-infections.

I have no idea anymore

Julie

julie,

fyi and all others, nationwide there are only around 12 good infectious drs. who are LYME LITERATE!!

please find out who they are so your out of pocket money can be used wisely to HELP you get your health back.

thyroxine is a thyroid testing!

crp, creative protein, is inflammation marker on lyme

i think q fever deals with co-infections as there are between 30-40 of those diseases!!

what state are you from? what city is the ID duck located?

good luck!

Hi:

I'm from Lake Villa IL about 45 miles out of chicago, 7 miles from the border of WI. He is located in Vernon Hills/Highland Park, IL....He is going to draw blood next week to send to Igenex. He said to start with the basic one Basic Lyme Panel, Western Blot IgG, Western Blot IgM. He does believe I have lyme. All tests came back NEGATIVE even the Lyme no suprise to either of us on that one. My white count is up to 12,00 but always is since birth...I see an allergist on Wed to start meds.

They will start with Celor, take a pill and pray for two hours while we wait to see if I have a reaction or not. All meds for lyme I'm allergic to so they are having a hard time with me regarding what pill I can take and can't take. Like he said if I could take the damn pills two months ago when I was bitten, I would be on the road to recovery...Its only been 2.5 months since this happend. Hopefully they can find a pill to work on me..

Is that test the right one to have taken???

J

julie,

blood drawn for igenex should be done mon. or tues. afternoon and sent promtply!

yes, western blot igm and igg blood test is the basic lyme test do do.

igenex has 2 full sheets of tick/lyme/vector-borne testing they do.

CO-INFECTIONS for other illnesses ticks carry 30-40 other diseases:

erlichia, babsiosa, bartonella, rocky mountain fever, hepatitius c, mycloplasma, and list goes on.

igenex's co-infection tests cost around $1,000 OUT OF POCKET unless you are on medicare!

frye labs in arizona was $250 and heart it doubled but i've been told is equal igenex reslts!

yes, antibiotics shold have been given to you promptly!!

if you go to www.lymenet.org to the medical section, copy/paste your post there ssking for more info! there is experience plus since the board is 10 years old!

others are allergic to meds too! i'm not.

hope this helps you little.

plesase send me a private message giving me your id's full name so i don't overlook him. appears NOT to be on our LYME LITERATE MD, LLMD list!

Isnt the C Reactive Protein have to do with Factor V (five) I was just tested for this in June when all my major neuro symptoms started and I tested postive. It is a blood clotting disorder. I have the one damaged chromosone which is DVT (deep vein thrombosis) which is the better one to have and if you have two damaged chromosomes you have the clotting disorder that causes strokes. I could be wrong or mixing it up with something else, but some drs call it CRP and others call it factor V.

hi april!

welcome to the board.

there are 2 CRPS: 1 is heart; other is arthritis one! so i think you are mistaken on that point UNLESS I AM confused at moment doing this from my neuro lyme memory. lol

i believe you are talking about COAGULATION, clotting of blood. i get so confused on all the terminology as well.

never heard valve 5 used.
