Help! I have lymes and was pregnant during the diseases. My 2 yr old just got tested via Western Blot from ******* and tested positive on both the IGG and IGM. SHe test positive for p41 and p 23 and according to the CDC she is positive for acute lyme. However, my pediatrician believes we both DON NOT have Lymes. He believes that we both just have higher antibodies and it's genetic but it's not LYMES. She also test positive on the IGG band 41. I have symptoms and a positive test, but NOT Lymes according to her pedi. I have "other" diseases. He also believes if we do have lymes that it's not CHRoinic LYMES but we were bit by two different ticks at the same time while we traveled up north to Northern IL Southern WI. He believes that LYmes doesn’t exist in DALLAS. However, when I told him we haven't been up north in almost a year he then stated that it's still not Lymes! He also states that LYMES doesn't make you sick and that your body naturally fights off the antibodies. So it's NOT LYmes. Then i asked why even remove ticks when you get them if your body fights them off naturally? Why was there ever a vaccine for Lymes if nothing bad happens if you get bit? Now my ignorant PEdi refuses to fill out the CDC report and is referring us to Children's Hospital in Dallas for infectious diseases. Are they LLMD? If not I don't want to waste my time trying to convince people that LYMES exists. It makes us sick. I am sick of being harassed! I am sick of being called names. If we had cancer would we be treated like this???

Anyhow does anyone know a good LLMD pedi in Dallas? Please pm me. I have a good LLMD, but he won't treat anyone under 14yrs old. Please help my 2 yr old. She vomits every night and has a bad rash on her body which Dr's can't explain.

I have just started treatment so I am Herxing. Does anyone know how long the herx last? I'm so sick!!!

I'm going to PM you now - I live in Dallas. Your doc is a jack a##. How do you explain that there are over 500 members in a local support group for Lyme? I am from Athens, Tx (an hour away) and contracted Lyme over 20 years ago. I have only been bit by one tick in my life - it was on my dog before it got to me (the dog died). It's frustrating, I know.

I'll send you my doc's info and maybe she can help. (She has Lyme as well). I would stay away from any infectious disease docs - they don't believe in Chronic Lyme at all. Jaime can send you a list of LLMD's as well...

Sorry you've had to deal with this!

Hi ldsucs,

Check your pms. I'm so sorry you are living in a nightmare. Find a new pediatrician asap.

Please do not take anything I say as medical advice. I am not a doctor

I am not interested in scaring you but the women who founded the american lyme disease foundation(i think) had lyme and passed it to her son who then died at four. You need to be your daughters own best advocate and if it doesn't sound right then go somewhere else. A. your doctor cannot refuse to fill out a CDC report based on his own beliefs because if you report him he will lose his license. Don't put up with that. Doctors tend to get a god complex and as patients we need to remind them that they are not god. They took an oath to help the public and if they choose not to do that, then their license should be pulled. I might be wrong, help me out here... isn't one of the ticks called the "lonestar tick" because of its location in the west- southwest? Hopefully, you will find a LLMD and she will get the proper treatment that she needs. Look on here at some of our other discussions regarding treatment and whether you choose to go with antibiotics or more of a homeopathic method.

Her Pedi said he believes her IGM test false positive because she probably had mono and that mono elevated the tiers. She has never had mono to my knowledge. Can Mono elevate band 23? I suggested he do an EB test before saying its false neg.

He believes that if only 2 cases of in utero or breast milk transmission has been reported, then our case is too rare. However, maybe it's rare BECAUSE DR like him are not reporting cases like mine. If my case was reported, then the numbers would rise. How many other cases like mine are not being reported?

He also believes that it is so rare that we both tested positive for the same bands that her test must be false positive. It's too unlikely that we would both have the same bands show up.

I believe that since it was transmitted in utero or breast milk that it would be common sense that we in fact do have the same positive bands since we have the same strain of lyme infection.

He believes that since her IGM is positive that she and I were bit by two different ticks which are unlikely.

I explain I agree us getting bit by two different ticks is unlikely and can be easily explained because she got the virus in utero or breast milk. Also that our IGM is positive because of chronic persistent re infection. I sited Dr Jones.

Is this legal? Can he get away with not reporting this to the cdc?

However, he does want to treat her not lymes with Amoxicillin for ten days. I want him to follow the ILADS guidelines. How do I do this? I am seeking other DR people have PM me with. Thanks!
