Iv port taking out??

Hi, I have been treated for last 6 months with Iv port. Before that 16 months oral antibiotics . Thinking about having port taking out and giving my body a break and maybe treating with alternative meds. A little nervous wondering how one has felt after having a port taking out. If anyone has experienced this would appreciate thoughts on. thx Stacey
