Hi:

Not sure, but it is my understanding IND is unsure and you have a lot of them. I'm sure someone will come along and answer this for you...

Did you have a tick bite? Have you been sick? Can you share more information so we can better understand how long you have been sick.

Thanks

Julie

Hi julie.

I dont recall having a tick bite, but i am probibly a pretty good candidate for it, i go camping and fishing alot in my spare time, i live in the uk.

My symptoms started about 3 years ago. mainly ms like symptoms. muscle ticks, spasms, numbness in arms and legs, anxiey, nervousness, depression.

Ive had loads of test done to check for ms, and other things, but all been clear.

I would have your blood sent to a good lab, most of the people use ignex (however you spell it) it costs a lot of money, but some day its worth it. I did do it and it cost me 1080 but my insurnce company paid back 800 of it.

I have the numbness in the arms and legs, muscle pain but no depression, thank the good lord...

Another good lab that I've never seen mentioned on this site is Immunosciences Lab, Inc. You can just google it and read about all of their tests.

Open your mind to the possibilities available to you.

An attitude of gratitude is good 'medicine,' too.

Hi bamptonbred. Below is the breakdown of the Western Blot:

9 cross-reactive for Borrellia

12 specific for Bb

18 unknown

20 cross-reactive for Borrellia

21 unknown

22 specific for Bb, probably really the 23/25 band

23-25 outer surface protein C (OspC), specific for Bb

28 unknown

30 unknown; probably an outer surface protein; common in European and

one California strain

31 outer surface protein A (OspA), specific for Bb

34 outer surface protein B (Osp; specific for Bb

35 specific for Bb

37 specific for Bb

38 cross-reactive for Bb

39 is a major protein of Bb flagellin; specific for Bb

41 flagellin protein of all spirochetes; this is usually the first to appear after a Bb infection and is specific for all Borrellia

45 cross-reactive for all Borellia

50 cross-reactive for all Borrellia

55 cross-reactive for all Borrellia

57 cross-reactive for all Borrellia

58 unknown but may be a heat-shock Bb protein

60 cross reactive for all Borrellia

66 cross-reactive for all Borrelia, common in all bacteria

83 specific antigen for the Lyme bacterium, probably a cytoplasmic membrane

93 unknown, probably the same protein in band 83, just migrates differently in some patients

No test for Lyme is completely reliable. Some people who have Lyme do not test positive. The CDC in the states requires several bands to show for the Western Blot to be positive; however, many people who have Lyme do not have this many bands. Lyme doctors often look at which bands are positive. Some are specific for Lyme.

The IgM tests for a more recent infection and the IgG tests for a longer standing infection. Band 41 is often the first to show, and yours are positive. Bands 31, 34, and 39 are Lyme specific bands and yous are IND. I think your results are significant.

I highly recommend being evaluated by a Lyme knowledgeable doctor. If you need a doctor recommendation, let me know.

was this igenix testing? from what I can see it sounds positive (not cdc postitive), but a lyme literat doc would call it postitive and treat, especially if you are symptomatic. the IND means "they saw something" but won't say lyme or not, a good lyme doc considers it a positive. pm me if you have any other questions or need a llmd. I hav to run, tons to do today, we are taking a mini vacation tomorow, not sure how I will handle it, indoor water park, lots of work to go thru for one day of fun!
