After being middiagnosed with meningitis, having brain surgery to put a shunt in, bring put on an involuntary leave that has ruined my career..and finally begging a pulmonary specialist to order a WEstern blot, it lit up like a Christmas tree so many bands were positive. IS there an attorney or law firm that anyone knows of that will take a case like this to court. Ive lost six yrs of my life and was just diagnosed 2 weeks ago.

any help eould be appreciated...MS

Sorry to hear that you have been through so much. You can always try and contact a reputable Malpractice attorney in your area. My gut tells me that since most Doctors do not understand Lyme, an attorney might be harder to convince. Good luck to you.

Very hard to sue as the Lyme diagnosis guidelines usually followed are by the IDSA and do not even mention any neurological symptoms

A physician must be found who would state that the providers neglected to follow standard practice or accepted guidelines

I lost years of my life with not only Lyme but also an adrenal problem that should have been diagnosed but I couldn't sue because technically the docs had followed the hypertension guidelines and were covered for not having looked for a cause of my extreme hypertension

Sad but that is how it is, you can try a lawyer, good luck.

Wow I am so sorry you have been through so much. Are you in a lyme endemic area that will help too ie NJ, Conn, NY, NE or wisconson??

you should also sue IDSA.

The most important thing right now for you do you have a good lyme doc? And have you been tested for co-infections?

If you dont mind list your positive bands on this web. There are several people here that can tell you what infections you have in addition to lyme.
