Hi,

I applied for Social Security Disability benefits, but I know that can be a nightmare. I was diagnosed with Chronic Lyme and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. I've been out of work for over a year because of my illness, and am in major debt. I haven't heard back from SSD yet, but I was just wondering if anyone has been successful with it.

Thanks!!

Hi and welcome,

My daughter did the SSI It took a while to get but when you do they make it retroactive. Bad thing is by then your credit is usually shot. One more indignity we suffer.

I have Lyme disease and I just got my award letter. It took me 2 years to win. You can not get ssi or ssda for lyme but you can with the symptoms. Good luck and God bless.

these symptoms are the same as fibromyalgia and worse. (personally I think fibro and chronic fatigue is lyme in one form or another) But the fibromyalgia patients are getting disability due to the symptoms!
With Him we "live" no matter the circumstances. At His feet peace of mind can be found. Peace that passes all understanding is my quest now and forever.

Numbers 6:24-26
"The LORD bless you and keep you;the LORD make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the LORD turn his face toward you and give you peace."

Wink Yes, I got it too. I had a SSD attorney and I pretty much got it quite quickly. Unfortunately, I was ruled disabled but there were no funds there for me...I didn't have enough credits.

The atty gets a certain percentage only if they win and they handle a lot of the things I didn't care to...it was one less thing I had to worry about.

Good luck,
