MDJunction to me

saralaurie"In the 3 months I have been with MDJunction I have developed a sense of calmness. I now friends who do not judge me because I have been a mental mess at times. It is such a good feeling to have friends I can tell my deepest thoughts and always get back to me with their support. I have never seen a therapist for long periods of time. Right or wrong, this is the best therapy possible for me. Thanks Roy for getting this up and running and making such a difference in my life. Sara" (saralaurie)

hi there. this is my first post. i read a post from a year ago and can't find it now. I was diagnosed with lyme disease about 4 months ago but the doctor feels that i have had lyme for about 10 years. I have also had severe pelvic pain for 6 years. i thought it was from my endometriosis which was diagnosed 22 years ago. the endo was very well managed. one day 6 years ago i woke up with pelvic pain and it has not gone away one minute of any day since then. i have had so much treamtment for this including 2 surgeries and one of them was a major surgery with a very well known endo doc in atlanta ga. well i expected to make a full recovery but i didn't-i got worse. several months after my surgery i started with severe knee pain. my daughter had lyme 2 years ago and i started to put together the symptoms still not thinking there was a connection to the pelvic pain. i saw our llmd and he instantly thought i had lyme when we looked back over my history. (started with a hospitalization 10 years ago when my face and neck blew up to about 10 times its size-no one ever figured out what that was from-they thought it was mumps but that came back negative and several docs said "its some crazy virus" well symptoms came and went but one thing that never left was body aches almost every day and many days when i had low grade fevers) well i guess my question is has anyone had constant pelvic pain-in addition it has spread to vaginal pain as well. the llmd thinks the pelvic pain is likely from lyme. i have been taking oral antibiotics (3 of them) for past several months and my insurance company denied iv treatment 3 times now despite neuro symptoms and soo many symptoms. it is finally where i have to pay privately-the insurance company should not be able to deny treatment but they did-their bias toward lyme is quite apparent. anyway has anyone had any connection between lyme and pelvic pain. thank youSmile

I don't know if you would call this 'pelvic pain', but I have severe tenderness in the areas where my legs meet my groin area...I have been told there are lymph nodes there, which are inflamed because of the infection. I have the same tenderness in my armpits sometimes, as well.

I hope you finally get some relief. It is sad that we have to battle insurance companies and doctors while in this condition. It's hard to find the strength!

thank you kyri for responding. it sounds like they are different sypmtoms but coming from the same darn disease-and yes the insurance company are downright unethical-i can think of no other disease where they would have denied me-does not seem that they should be able to do this. well bless you and have a good nightSmile

I've been doctor hopping for 15 years now because of pain in my perineum pain...well, stopped about 6 years ago and assumed it was due to the fact that my uterus and colon both spasm so it must cause periodic pudental nerve entrapement. Mine has 3 versions and now you have me wondering if it is because the lyme. I'm curious if any of the 3 versions sound like what you have going on happymom3 (or anyone else for that matter!) One is like a wooden clothespin is on my perinium (yes, it hurts as badly as that sounds), another is like I'm being stabbed through it with a skewer and the last one is like a 300 pound something is sitting inside me pushing on it. Sorry about the visuals, but that is the best way I can explain it. If this sounds familiar I may have figured out why I've been having those issues as well. I don't need any more reason to visit a doctor...I'm sure you all feel the same!

I have IBS with spastic colon. I also have urethral pain and spasm. Sometimes I could swear that my vagina/womb, rectum, and bladder/urethra are all spasming in one tight ball..It throws me down and I writhe for Several minutes to hours. I never know when it's going to act up..but when it does I know i'm in for a long haul..It usually lasts for several days. I have no idea if it is lyme related though...Sorry! I have had 3 children and this only started after my second baby was born and continually got worse through the years.
With Him we "live" no matter the circumstances. At His feet peace of mind can be found. Peace that passes all understanding is my quest now and forever.
