Has anyone done treatment, only with Oral Antibiotics alone, and no IV, no PICC line, and no "natural treatments".

If so, I would like to hear how successful it was, and how long it took, and any other details.

Thanks.

Hey Mambo,

I just finished up 6 months of orals. I just started on cats claw and bromelain and Im most likely going to move on to IM or IV infusion.

This is because of gut issues.

Some of my symptoms lessened but didnt go away so we are moving on. Tried Doxy, ceftin amox and zithro

Thanks, IV is not an option for me, and my Doctor does not want me on any of the natural antibiotics, and almost all of the success stories I hear on Lyme involve IV within the treatment, so that gets me discouraged since I can't do IV, and wonder if I can truly get better without it.

I have done treatment with only orals. I am actually just coming off them. I was on them for about 8 months and I have just stopped taking them. I am not %100, but I am close and I want to see how I will be with out taking them.

I was on doxy 400mg a day and then he switched me to Ceftin for the summer (May,june and july).

And I just stopped taking it this week.

I started feeling better in about 3 or 4 weeks, and kept getting slowly better.

Let me know if there is anything you need to know.

Debra

Because the cost skyrockets with IV. I have no insurance and cannot afford it.

What's IM ?

Intramuscular injections...

I have only ever had orals.

This past 8 months I have been on orals and am only now starting to notice improvements. The problem is that even though my good days are getting a little better, my bad days are alos sometimes worse.

Keep a positive attitude about your treatment, we know that it is necessary for recovery.

IV is ridiculously cost prohibitive for those without any coverage...and even for those with.

Why doesn't your doc want you to integrate naturals, I wonder?

At first, I was taking some natural supplements and herbs on my own, that he approved of. Then one day, I went back to him, and told him that I had suddenly experienced a new and severe symptom/herx, and it started around the same time I started taking Colloidal Silver (on my own). Then he got very upset, and told me that I was "over-stimulating" my immune system, and then told me to stop taking all my natural supplements, and herbs, and not to start any new ones.

I do however take Bromelain and cats claw and my llmd said i could add oil of oregano. She suggested starting with 1 drop and using capsules to deliver it as she said it has a very strong taste

The IM is intra muskular injections given 2x a week.
