Hi greenbow,

Yeah, it so bizare I ask people if I sound strange or if I am talking weirdly and they say I sound normal. But to me it's as if someone else is talking or like I'm talking like a robot.

I can understand everything you said. The past few days have been really bad. I felt like I was in a bubble watching everything around me, and I was not a part of it. I to have wondered if Im talking ok. It does not sound ok to me. Joint pain has been really bad along with headaches, neck pain, chest pain and moodyness really bad. Hang in there.

I have them for almost 3 years,but i don't think it's lyme.

I cant recognize myself in the mirror,i feel my body is not mine.

I feel my surronding is unreal,fake..

its a symptom of anxiety.

Yeah I have heard about anxiety causing the depersonalization, but when I first started to get it, I had a lot of other symptoms that started at the same time. What have you done to help with your depersonalization? I am on an anti-depressant, lexapro but it doesn't do anything.

Hi:

I didnt taking any medication to treat it coz I know there are no medication to treat dp/dr.

its from anxiety,constant worry,thoughts...etc

How long have you have dp/dr?

I don't think it's lyme,I think you may have lyme and depersonalization at the same time.

I had it too. I was told by docs it was depression and/or anxiety. It was neither. AS usual, with lyme, the docs were wrong. They kept throwing depression/anxiety meds at me (because as you all know, us lymie's in the eyes of docs are crazy, everything is in our heads). It's undescribable what it's really like, it's not like depression or anxiety it's a completely surreal feeling. After a few months of antibotics it completely went away and hasn't returned.

I really do believe it's lyme because so many others say they feel the same way. Also because I never had anything like Dp before I started to have the DP plus all the other physical symptoms of lyme. I feel what I have goes beyond the normal dp type symptoms. I have had it for almost 2 years now.

Abster33:

So if it is lyme, you should just stick to the lyme treatment, not anti-derepssant..right?

I think anti-depresant drug wont' help dp/dr at all..

Sometimes it's the meds that make you feel this way. Ask your doc if you can take a med break to see if that is the cause of the derealization symptoms. Could be that you just need to change up your meds a bit.
