I now believe in myself and accept myself on a completely different level. The people on MDJunction has been so supportive and accepting that I have been able to adopt it into my personal life. That has reduced a lot of stress in my life. Thanks to all." (bunnyfly)

I know that this question has been asked before, that is what brought me to this site. Sorry for my over wordyness.

Over the past month I've been feeling tired, and worn. Then about 2 weeks ago I started having sever joint pains. My wrists, elbow, knees and ankle were the worst. I was tired and felt broke. My doctor found that I had a sinus infection so he gave me antibiotic and said that if I didn't feel better in a couple of days he would test my blood for lyme and RA. That was the first I ever thought about Lyme Disease, so I started reading. Almost every symptom match except for the rash, I never noticed one. Since I first went to the doc on Wed and wanted to give the AntiB's a chance to work I did not get blood work until Monday. 5 days after I started taking the AntiBs. The blood work came back Negative. Could the AntiB's have caused a false Neg.? The doc wanted to put me on Anti Depressants, I said NO, the pain is real not in my head, though at times it is making me feel crazy. So he is sending me a Rheumatologist. It may be something else, It's just that everything I read on sites like this describes what I am going through. I'm 37 years old, too young to feel the what that I am feeling.

Thank you to all of you on this site, You are giving me hope that I will find an answer and that I am not crazy

NO, you are NOT CRAZY. most people don't have a rash, most didn't know they were bit, etc. And not only ticks carry lyme. Mosquitos and fleas can too they are learning. Have a western blot done and sent to IGENIX labs in CA. they are the lab of labs for tick born illness. It only takes one or two bands 18, 41 I believe to prove lyme. (I'm sure the blood work your doc did was just an ELISA test, which are usually negative, lousy testing!) Please trust your body, it sounds like lyme to me. Many lymies don't react well to antidepressants, I just learned this. I thought I just couldn't take them, I would go crazy on them, suicidal, angry, just ready to explode! and even coming off cymbalta (after only taking it for 3 weeks) was misery. well, I'm not the only one. So many lymies report this about them. not good. A rheumy will likely dx you with fibro, lupus, RA, scleroderma, ect, ect, ect. all of which are common diagnoses before getting the proper one of lyme. If your doctor is willing to learn about lyme, that's great. First step, have blood work sent to igenix, you can google them and get the forms for your doc to do. he just has to write the order. or draw blood in the office and send off. then go from there. If you need a lyme friendly doctor you can pm me, i have a list of some.
Please do not take anything I say as medical advice. I am not a doctor.

I never had a rash either and tested negative in 1985. Here it is, 2008, positive all this time!

I totally agree with Jamie --- def. send your test to Igenex! It's worth the money.

If you do have Lyme, my best advice is to research the heck out of this disease and be one step ahead of your doctor. You have to be educated in Lyme to really beat it! Most doctors don't know jack squat about it. Sad but true.
