What coinfections have you been checked for and have you been treated for them also?

I am currently being treated for Mycoplasma and Babesiosis. There are co-infections that can be treated with the antibiotics used to treat Lyme disease.

Igenex has improved testing for co-infections. Have you had a diagnosis of any co-infections?

hello! I've been tested and treated for the following coinfectins: Ehrlichia, babesia, bartonella. I also tested positive for HHV-6 and HHV-7. The lab that my doctor used was Immunosciences Lab., Inc.

I was treated for these infections and viruses with alternative medicine. I did get better. I did not use conventional antibiotics at all. Babesia is awful. The symptoms of babesia are very similar to malaria. I used to get gut-wrenching chills at night. The chills were paralyzing. If you've experienced this , you will know what I'm talking about. I used to tell my ex-internist about this awful problem, but he didn't seem to think it was serious. I cannot believe I put up with all of this crud for so long.

Anyway, did you say you are taking antibiotics for babesia? It's my understanding that babesia is a protozoal parasite and that the antibiotics normally used for Lyme are generally not effective against babesia organisms. It's just something to think about. How many other patients has your doctor treated for babesia with antibiotics and are they better? That would be interesting to know.

Please do not take anything I say as medical advice. I am not a doctor.

Open your mind to the possibilities available to you.

An attitude of gratitude is good 'medicine,' too.

I have been diagnosed with both Babesia and Erlichiosis, but I have never tested positve for either of them. I have had some serious issues with night sweats and spiking sudden fevers, and yes they do suck big time. I have found myself waking up in pools of sweat again. I am also under the impression that the regular antibiotics don't work for Babesia. I think they use antivirals and Anti-aids drugs for these two. What did you use for the Babesia?

I know all too well about the drenching night sweats. I must have had a flare-up after the birth of my third child. I would have to change my pajamas and sheets at least 3 times during the night. This was in addition to breasfeeding my new born in the middle of the night. I told my gyno about this (thinking it was related to hormones), he just didn't know what to think. These diseases are crazy. Most doctors just aren't educated about our dilemma.

Like I said , I chose the alternative route. I have a biological MD who prescribed a customized plan for me. I used a combination of nutritional supplements, homeopathics, and herbals to cure all of my infections. The natural antibiotic that I used was Samento by Nutramedix ( I bought mine from my doctor, but I have seen it available over the internet, too. Just google Samento by Nutramedix). It is a potent anti-viral, anti-parasitic, antibiotic and immune booster. In the beginning, I was only able to take one to two drops per day to avoid herxheimer. However, like I said, I also took a lot of other 'stuff'. For example, probiotics (Prescript-Assist is my brand of choice), monolaurin, TAS-a (glutathione). Honestly, there were so many. I believe the supplements that I took worked synergistically to kill AND to boost my immune system so I could fend the infections off myself. I suppose I could gather my old bottles and list many of them on this forum if that is okay to do.

You can get better from this disastrous disease, I did. I am still amazed at how good I feel without one single conventional antibiotic. I am not totally against conventional medicine. I am grateful it's there when I need it and I sure needed pain pills during the period when I was misdiagnosed. However, my journey really opened my eyes to the power of alternative medicine.

Keep reading and searching and asking. You will get better. Don't give up. The cure is out there, I found it and I'm here to share my story of success.

I want us all to get better.
