MDJunction to me

jenniferdiva"MDJunction has been just an amazing support for me. The people who are on mdj are so nice! Unlike the many other support sites that I have been on. I have made several friends on mdj who are so supportive and so educated about mental illness. Of course non of us are doctors, but we certainly offer each other hugs, opinions, and advice. I have learned a great deal from my friends on mdjunction. I am also encouraging other people who suffer from mental illness to come on to MDJ. It can be a life line." (jenniferdiva)

For those experienced in naturals, any input on Buhner v/s Cowden protocal? I've been on antibiotics for about 3 months and my NP okayed me going off of them next month and going on naturals. I've looked into both of these and both look hard to follow if I do all the supplements so just curious what the top 5 or so would be to start with. I know Samento is one. Any suggestions on other key ones to begin with? Thanks!

you want to make sure you're taking something like a cyst buster. many things, including many antibiotics push it into cyst form, so then you get a cyst buster (ie flaygl) and it breaks them open and kills.

if I'm not mistaken, carnivora is a cyst buster, from nutramedix.

i think many of the natural protocols are tricky to follow 100% accuratly, but cowden and buhners protocol has outlined them fairly well.

of course you want to take things that are going to kill the bacteria, and possibly a viral killer, somethig for systemic yeast, parasites, micoplasma's, etc. as well as things that help to build your immune system.

I dont' have time to get into all the specifics on both protocols right now, but in my opionion they are both pretty good resources, I've heard of success on both of them.

I do know Buhner has a protocol in his book "curing lyme disease and co infections naturally" i think is the name of it, where you can take part of the natural protocol along with antibiotic therapy.

olive leaf extract, garlic, oil of oregano, all wonderful natural things to take.

of course samento, cumanda, burber, carnivora, also have heard a lot of success with.

but as I say with everything, this disease is rather complicated, and no two people really ever follow the exact same protocol with a llmd, because there are so many strains of lyme itself, then add in co infections and everything else....

i guess if I were you I'd say follow your instincts, give it a try, have faith it's going to work.

also I have heard that the cowden protocol has been offered with a discounted price if you do it thru a llmd. not sure on specifics of that, you'd have to look on nutramedix website and see what you can find.

Please do not take anything I say as medical advice. I am not a doctor.

It really comes down to what works best for you...so it is a matter of trial and error...

for me Samento just doesnt cut it...so I had to switch to a product called Spiro - and it works very well for me...

Carnivora - which is pure venus fly trap juice...goes after and destroys abnormal cells...so cysts or lyme - it goes after both...also used with success against cancer...very good product - it has helped me to defeat several colds and flus...

some follow such protocols - while others experiment with different products on their own...because we just dont know what is going to work until we try it.

Thank-you both very much for your reply. I have never heard of Carnivora. I'll look into that one, also.

Hello my name is Rhetta...

I was curious about your title...

I was trying the Buhner protocol before I even knew I had lyme...and yes the products were hard to find...

I found a website of a herbalist who had lyme himself and put things into one convenient capsule... I have been having a great week for the 1st time in months...don;t know if it is partly because taking an antibiodic break or getting serious about the natural protocol... I ordered the product on his site called Lyme Recovery and started a liquid B12 and the Herb Pharm Eleuthero (Siberian Ginseng) Buhner recommends and have been having a very good week and regret I have to start my antibiodics again...but it is all a learning process ...best of luck to you

Dr. Cowden has a new condensed protocol that he says is having 70% to 90% success rates. It alternates samento, cumanda, mora, quina, banderol so that the lyme does not have time to acclimate to any one of them. You take serrapeptase to break the cyst form down, and magnesium malate to make sure you move bowels twice daily to rid toxins. You take zeolite to rid body of heavy metals (after removal of all mercury amalgam fillings) You take detox herbs parsley burbur and others to help handle the herx reactions of the toxins released from dieoff of lyme. You are encouraged to dry brush the skin toward the heart each day to move lymph. Nutramedix offers 6 mo. free protocol to one patient per doctor. I would like to compare notes with someone who has done this protocol. I've been on it for 48 days. Since I have had lyme long term, it takes over three months to start seeing results- Karen

Thank-you, Karen, for the information. I'm very interested in his protocol. I see my NP in a couple of weeks so I'll see about starting it. Please update me on how you are doing. Thanks!
