These have increased for me in the past 2 months. Any thoughts why this would occur?

I'm thinking my thyroid's getting worse?

My dr said it could mean blood pressure is a bit lower .the increase of water/ salt will raise blood pressure.

This was one of my first herx symptoms starting abx. I knew nothing, nothing about lyme even tbough I was put on doxy after EM.

I had an aversion to sweets and wanted salt/ water/citrus and the only thing sweet was pomegranate fruit.

Dr never mentioned thyroid. But i do have very low blood pressure. When I increase water/ salt it is better.

Thats all I know based on my history.

Anything I post or respond to comes from a Lyme and Bart victim himself. I am NOT a doctor. I do my own research for ME...I may share my findings and will post them. They are for general talk and vent...If a group leader feels the info is worth saving somewhere, they are more than welcome to do with it as they like. Wlk=)

Thanks for the replies...

It is so interesting how everything is tied together - thyroid, adrenals, hormones (is that due to Lyme affecting the pituitary gland?).

My body does not feel balanced - like my electrolytes are off or something. I guess I'll just keep eating the salt and drinking lemon water.

Any other ideas? Does this regulate as treatment progresses?

This is an ignorant question...but, what causes low blood pressure in Lyme patients? Don't really know much about blood pressure...

Most LD & Co Pts. suffer from a Hypothalamus/Pituitary/Thyroid Axis. While I agree with wlk, that the Adrenals are involved in this process, it actually stems from the Hypothalamus, caused by an Iodine deficiency.

There are several ways to treat this... Nascent Iodine, Sea Kelp, etc. I would 1st. speak with your LLMD or ND & see if they feel your Hypothalamus is an issue & what they think is your best course of treatment.

Thanks Raven...that makes sense. And vpat - good Q about the spot test - my dr. does that every time I go in.

The time it takes to absorb is getting less and less - probably not a good sign. I'm wondering why he didn't put me on iodine. Hmmmm. Something to discuss with him (better write it down Smile )

I had salt cravings along with excessive thirst, extreme fatigue and low BP. My LLMD started florinef and cortef in very low doses. It seems to be helping quite a bit but it took a few weeks to kick in.
