I'm about to see an LLMD this week who is supposedly one of the best. I'm concerned because he uses mainly antibiotics to treat. I've been a natural health nut for decades. I tried the Buhner herbs for two months, but developed chronic loose stools, now controlled with Immodium. I quit everything weeks ago.

I feel I need a good LLMD to guide me thru this, but scared of abx side effects. There seem to be a lot of opinions on whether chronic lyme can be cured without abx.

At least my case doesn't seem to be TOO bad. My CD57 was 88, if that means anyhting...

Thanks for any comments.

Mike

Mike, I am also seeing "one of the best" who uses traditional Western medicine. (Antibiotics)

However, I have BB and no co-infections so I feel like mine is a simple treatment.

What are you treating?

I decided to take his advice for a while but have added my own researched herbals (Buhner, etc)

I am doing a lot of herbal detox while taking the ABX and special diet.

I believe that killing the bugs with ABX is effective. I'll do it for a while.

But I also believe in other methods and have always used chiro, acupuncture and holistic supplements.

Hi Pam. I'm not sure what all I have...just a slightly positive Western Blot. Can't wait to get this guy's opinion.

How long have you been treating? Since 2003? Doesn't sound simple...

Thanks,

Mike

I have only been treating 1 month. I was told in 2003, that the testing was negative.

Progressive illness since then and I found a copy of the tests that WAS NOT negative.

So I had an Igenex WB done.

I saw my LLMD in San Francisco in May and started treatment.

You need to see the report of your test.....do all the bands show on the report?

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS "SLIGHTLY POSITIVE".

Hi Mike, I am not seeing an LLMD, I'm working with an herbalist. I've been in treatment for 9 months

and doing pretty good. I also use a rife machine and fairly clean diet. Lots of juicing and greens.

When I first started treatment, I asked this same question on a different forum and caused quite a

stir! People were VERY adamant about antibiotics being the only way to treat. But a couple people

Said abx made them worse and turned to a more natural approach.

I decided then I would stick with the herbal/rife approach and I'm very happy I did. All my symptoms

are better. I can go outside on hot days now, go shopping to more than one store. I doesn't take me

3 days to recover from a busy day........

I'm still healing, but life is getting better. It's a roller coaster and not easy, but I'm proof healing

Is possible w/o abx! BTW I've been sick for 10 years-only known about Lyme 9 months.

Hope I didn't confuse you more....good luck!

HI Pam...

I knew the "slightly positive" would get a response. What I mean is that the IGG was just band 39 as "IND" and IGM had 41 + and 31 ++. I spoke to Dr. Harris (founder of IgeneX) and he said I might want to do the specific test on band 31 to make sure it's not a virus or something else. But he said a good LLMD (like Dr H) should be able to tell from symptoms.

Thanks,

Mike

To Ritetolife...

(and sorry if I'm getting the responses in the wrong place...new here)

Thanks for the response. I'm going to wait to see what the doc says. He's supposed to be one of the best. I can always quit the abx if I can't handle them and try something else (again).

I'm an Advocate

Mike....

One of our rules here is NOT to post doctors names...especially LLMD's...so please remove the LLMD name and just leave it as Dr H....thanks (leaders will edit this for you if they get to it first)...

No you dont HAVE to do abx...I have done both...some just can't...some prefer not to...

I did abx for 12 years straight then on and off for years (as money permitted after loosing a good paying job)....

I am in remission now...and got there with natural, diet, and supplements...

Talk to the LLMD...some may do maily abx - but may also be open to alternative routes....

Hang in there

Christine

Sorry. Someone asked his name. she must have meant that I should send it to her privately...

Thanks for the comments.

Seems to be a lot of disagreement on the subject.
