FYI: If you have LD or an other Chronic Infection/Disease, you are susceptible to developing Heartworm just like dogs are when they are infected by mosquitoes.

Over a year ago, I had a parasitic infection in my eye that no Dr would acknowledge. While detoxing in the bath, I laid a washcloth over my face & the parasite suffocated. I had green puss pour out of the corner of my eye for over 5 days, nonstop.

While treating for Babs, I took Artemesia Annua. After about 2 1/2 weeks, white, hair, like threads came out of my body. My head was covered in white fuzz. Of course I was told by all the non LLMDs that it was Morgellon's.

Anywho, my son has had horrible eye issues for the past 2 years. I was told by everyone that there was nothing wrong with him or it was dry eyes, yeast, etc.

On Friday, a worm came out of my son's eye, I got it up to his Pedi & he examined it under the microscope. He called me back today & told me the worm was the mother worm, Canine Filariasis. (AKA Heartworm)

I was told I needed to get my son in for testing & to start RX treatment. I told the Dr., "Thank you but no thank you. I told you he was infected with something for almost 2 years you didn't listen to me or test him for anything & that we didn't need his CDC drugs. I'll use Artemesia Annua & get rid of it more effectively than any of his CDC drugs could."

Wish I had known then, what I know now. Could have saved my son some major suffering. Oh well, 1 infection down, many more to go. (sigh)

Raven,

This is an incredable story. Heartworms coming out of eyes! What did the sucker look like?

I hope that this means that your son is feeling better? At least his eyes feel better?

Do humans get hearworms by mosquito bites too?

Ronda - It's my understanding that Heartworm is only transmittable by mosquitoes. Most healthy people can be infected but their immune systems will fight off the parasite. People with compromised immune systems can become symptomatic. I was told that it won't effect a human's heart like a dog's heart but could cause nodules on the person's lungs.

What kills me is before I even knew I had LD & Co., I saw 2 different ID Drs. & neither one of them ran a single test, told me I was psychosomatic & there was no way what I told them could be possible. Not to mention I told them I had helped out at a local, animal shelter before I got really bad. Go figure, huh?

When my son's Dr said Heartworm, I looked the mother worm & thread worms up. They were exactly what came out of me!!!

Mystic - Here's a link to what the mother worm sorta looked like. The worm in the link is Loa Loa. Heartworm is smaller but looks the same.

Mystic - Thanks. We started treatment on my son Monday. 200mg of Artemisia Annua 2x's a day. It took about a good 2 1/2 - 3 weeks for me. We'll see if it's the same with my son. I hope!!!

Raven,

where can we get Artemesia Annua?! I have been wondering lately, 'hmmm...if dogs can get worms from mosquitos, why can't humans?!' I was talking to someone about it yesterday in fact!

Lyme99 - Both times I had to order my Artemisia. My local HFS doesn't carry the Annua.

I ordered them through Vitacost. The brand is called NutriCology Artemisia. Here's a link....

Let us know how he does.

As an aside: I was reading one of my water supply books today and happened upon a photograph of a man's leg with a huge white worm coming out. He had gotten some kind of worm from a third world water supply.

The book's authors said that the medical sign represents removing one of these worms from a person. The thing wound around the staff is one of these worms. And the staff is the way that they coax this type of worm out of patients.

Anyhow, I was thinking of you guys when I read this....

Mysticthecat: The origin of the staff with intertwined snakes (correctly two, not one) is actually a much cooler story then that, and it is 5000+ years old.

Ayurveda is an ancient medical philosophy/teaching that originated in the Indus Valley over 5000 years ago.

It is where yoga, aroma therapies, gem stone therapy, certain types of meditation, Sanskrit and much herbal lore came from.

Ayurveda tells about the origin of the sentient world by a sort of condensation of pure consciousness.

In this teaching, the spinal column of humans is a central energy pathway - Sushumna. There are two other major pathways to either side of the spine - Pingala and Ida.

All three originate at the base of the spine in the first chakra. The major central one, Sushumna, goes straight up to the brain.

The Pingala and Ida weave back and forth from one side to the other, meeting up in each of the other major chakras and ending in the right and left nostrils of the nose.

The medical symbol of the staff with two snakes originated from a depiction of these three energy pathways.

Sashuruta was a famous Ayurvedic physician and surgeon. He wrote an Ayruvedic textbook called the Shushruta Samita.

There is a society of surgeons in the US called the Shushruta Society.

Some of the surgical techniques described in the Shushruta Samita are still in use in modern surgery today.

When a surgeon acquaintance of mine said something dismissive about Ayurveda and complimentary medicine, I told him the stories above.

Namaste,

Keetesh
