MDJunction to me

aTinaL"To me, Mdjunction comes down to motivation. The support and information I have found here motivated me to take a very proactive stance regarding my illness. This led me to find medication and doctors that are giving me my life back.
More important than even the motivation, though, is the friendship I have found at MDJ. I have made some of the best friends of my entire life right here in this group. Even though most of us have never met, it feels as if we have known each other for years.
If Angels walk among us, and I believe that they do, most of them are here at MDJ.

Hi all

A few questions have been asked as to what natural treatments my family has used to battle Lyme disease.

I'm not a doctor, but I'll tell you what we experienced and tried.

We all had different symptoms, so we weren't always under the same regime.

We started treatments December 2007. Blood samples were sent to the Igenex lab, which only deals with Lyme. Much of this is covered in my blog, but I will try to shed some light. First, really try to not let stress get to you. Stress definitely hinders your healing, so please, try to keep the stress down.

Initially, we started taking different micro-bacterial drops (Quina,Burber, Babuna, Takuna, Super Artemisin, etc) to kill the Lyme bacteria. In addition, we were under a metal detox regime. We were also taking neural brain cleansing drops. Some of this stuff was pretty strong. You started feeling the bacteria die off quickly (flu-like symptoms). Chlorella pills were taken to bind with the metal detox and flush the materials/bacteria out.

We also were placed on Myers IV drips, which are full of vitamins and minerals. Ondamed treatments worked on disturbing the bacteria's electro-magnetic field (we all generate electricity).

My husband was placed on silver colloidal IV treatments (Argentyn), which kills off the bacteria, but you feel awful because of the toxin release (die-off).

Every 2 weeks we came in, and changed drops if necessary. The bacteria mutates within 10-14 days, so by changing meds we were one step ahead of the bug.

Three out of 4 family members were on MetabolicZyme (stomach enzymes) to help with digestion and nutrition intake.

This is controversial, but we all underwent oxygen treatment. Lyme does not survive in high heat, or near high oxygen concentrations. Hyperbaric chamber treatments aren't always close, so instead we rented oxygen tanks, and rode an exercise bike breathing in oxygen at 8 liters/hour. By exercising you are breathing in 3X the amount of oxygen. This worked for us, as we experienced significant die-off, but you have to be careful to not overdo it.

Hot bathes with Epsom salts help you detox, but remember to drink water and add electrolytes. Fatty acids seem to help with the cracking joints.

The tick bite also releases co-infectious bacteria and viruses, so you may be battling other infections.

Plus once you're immunity systems tackles one item, other factors may surface (layers) that have to be addressed (underlying sensitivities, hormones, emotions, etc.).

Changing your diet by reducing or cutting out sugars, carbohydrates, alcohol, and caffeine are a big help. We try to eat mainly organic.

Right now I'm trying to get my hormones balanced with Prednisone Plus, Thyrocsin, DHEA, Omegas 3-6-9, and I don't eat fatty foods, or dairy.

We have followed our doctor's advice, and for the most part everything has worked. My husband is still fighting co-infections, so some days are good and others, not as good.

Electrolyte packets help if you're fatigued, but be aware the ones with extra Vit. C can strip away calcium, so there are packets with extra calcium.

Anyway, hope this helps.

Lisa

Please take this advice as personal experience and not that of a medical professional. Sometimes experience is what makes us learn and help one another. Take the pieces you need, and always question, ask, with an open mind and heart...[/b]
