Hi Everyone:

Most of you know I got lyme at the end of July 2007. ( I removed the tick July 22, got sick 8 days later) Was treated with various abx until Sept. Went off them Sept 13 to get married. Had my western blot done via Igenex, came back positive in October.

Went on Abx October 15 until December 16, had to stop due to allergic reaction.

I have not been back on anything since. The first 3 weeks were awful, neck, knee pain, you name it. Then week by week it all went away.

As of today I really have no complaint except for my hand and feet going numb (very mild) and not every day. I'm also on HRT and having problem with that at the moment.

I feel 99.9% like my old self which I hate saying as I don't want to jinx myself. Even working from 7:30am until 3:00pm before I was working 8:30 until 1:00 came home and went to bed...Not anymore...

Could this be gone or in remission and should I re-test the western blot?? I just have massive blood work done all AOK, Sed, rate, white count, red count, everything in normal range...

So what does everyone think...I really want to make my long awaited honeymoon in May...

Thanks everyone...

Julie

From what I have read - you can feel better and stay better. I have a friend who has Chronic Lyme. She went through an intense month long treatment at a facility - she felt fine for over 7 years. She felt so great that she started training for a marathon and started two businesses all at the same time. The stress from those things brought her Lyme symptoms back. So, I guess we all have to remember to do everything in moderation and not get 'too cocky' about feeling good. I think balance will help us all!!!

Glad you are feeling better!

Congratulations!

I am also doing a lot better. We might have caught lyme at exactly the same time! I am hopeful of having a full recovery even if my rheumatologist thinks I will always have to suffer with arthrit pain. I am still on anti inflammatories and I have tried to get off but not sucessfully. I have a HLA B27 factor that is some kind of marker that you are more prone to arthritic and auto immune diseases so that is hat the dr. bases my prognosis on. I worked from early morning to late night the other day, that is something I never thought I could do again. I have never been as sick as I was in my whole life, I really understand that much more now after I am almost recovered.

You should go and enjoy your honeymoon.

Again, I am so happy taht you are back to your health!!

Hi:

I am seeing a rheumatolgist on Monday...I still get mild neck pain and strange aches and pains, but I am also on HRT for the past 5 years and think I need to adjust it alittle...

So glad you are feeling better...I just could not think about being on abx for years and years like some of the people do, for one thing I don't think its healthy whatsoever...I still think our bodies can fight and fight this off...

What is HRT? Have you tried Mobix? That is what I have been on for the last few months and my neck pain that was so sever is gone. It really changed my lifeI am on the strongest dose but I have started to try to alter with the lower dose.

Just a thought.

Tina, does the mobic do anything to your liver? is it like the vioxx was? I tried some of the anti inflams before, to no avail, unfortuantly. I'd hate to add yet another drug, but you keep saying how much it's helped your pain, so it makes me hopeful it could help with some of mine.

The docs says it mostly effects your digestion system, have not heard anything about liver when I have asked but I think you might be right, it might be one of these more rare side effects. I will have to check on that. My philosopy is that all chemical effects your body in a negative way but right now it sure makes me feel almost normal and I am so happy, never thought I would get back to anything like my good old self.

I'll let you know what I figure out
