I'm looking at the Igenex price list. Before going full throttle on antibiotics I want to get a clearer diagnosis.

I did TOA free Samento drops in January and reached up to 30 drops a day and it did nothing for me.

I felt no drastic improvement and I also did not herx so I'm at a lost. However i still show many of the classical lyme symptoms so this is why I'm really wanting to do alot of testing so that i can get a clearer understanding of what's going on in my body.

Does anyone here know what PCR stands for and what this test measures?

Igenex also has cerebral spinal fluid test, is it worth getting this test done?

Last but not least the FISH test, ever heard of this one? I sent them like two emails and have not heard back from them. I called them but the guy that answered the phone was hard to understand, he talks a bit too fast.

Happynurse,

The biggest thing I can say is that even IgeneX tests aren't completely accurate. If the Samento didn't do anything for you, then you are just one of those people whom it doesn't affect well. Some things work for some, and other things work for others.

If you have the money to throw at IgeneX, go ahead and get all the tests done. But Lyme is definitely a clinical diagnosis. Many times these tests may show one thing it didn't before, but it looks like you have already had tests done and they showed some Lyme-specific activity happening.

To me, there's no reason to get further testing in your case, but that's my opinion.

The one test that would really show accurately (depending on the blood sample drawn, would be the culture test that Burrascano helped to develop. I think it's done at Advanced Labs. You can Google it for more info. But IgeneX doesn't do it.

From Ask.com: PCR is short for Polymerase Chain Reaction. This is a method used to amplify a small amount of DNA into a larger amount so that a DNA profile or analysis can be run. This is how scientists are able to get someone's full DNA profile off of just a small droplet of blood.

I would say to talk with your LLMD. If you don't have one, request for a name list in our doctor request forum. Remember that they have been trained by the best to understand this illness better than many, and we need to trust them.

All the best,

Lauren

Was diagnosed with Autonomic Disorder, POTS, Interstitial Cystitis, and Fibromyalgia. True story is I have late stage Lyme which has caused these things. Just began the fight in October 2011 (have been full-blown Lyme since Sept. 5, 2010), and WILL be victorious! Positive bands: IgG 41 and 60; IgM 23 and 41. CDC positive!

Not a doctor, not anyone of any legal standing... just someone on the search.
