MDJunction to me

Hazeldee"MDJunction means that I no longer have to feel like I am the only person in
the world with pericarditis. It means that I can talk to others who know
how stressful and how painful having pericarditis can be. It means that I
connect with others to discuss treatments that have or haven't worked for us, so that we have a leg to stand on. I think that having my friends at
MDJunction has allowed me to better mentally and emotionally process my
diagnosis and what it means to me. I feel so lucky to have this community
available to me. I use MDJunction as a way to use my experience to help
others. Reaching out to help others is the only solace I have found since
being diagnosed with pericarditis.

Anyone know what this means.

My friend is getting worse despite treating almost a year.

His LLMD has switched meds many times.

He is suffering with alot of pain, mainly muscular and nerve pain.

He has horrible headaches, and anxiety.

He is worried that he seems to be feeling progessingly worse.

Before starting treatment he thought he was one of the lucky ones as his symptoms were mild.

This doesn't seem like herxing but more like reverse progress to him.

Any suggestions? Blood counts?

He treated Lyme and bart. Mainly conventional abx.

Has he and his home been tested for mold? Systemic candida? Has he been treated for babesia?

That really sounds like he has something systemic that is wearing down his system.

During my treatment the symptoms you listed got WORSE because the babesia came front and center. My tests didn't come back like his did, but babesia can cause those results.

If he hasn't been treated for babesia, that's probably a good bet. See Dr. Schaller's book on Babesia (original one). Babs is a pretty common reason for apparent "treatment failure" when really it just means there's something else to treat.

And because Babs lives in and destroys blood cells.

Mold or systemic candida can really impact the body too, but the more I think about it, the more I suspect babesia is the issue.

I am not a doctor, just a patient striving for recovery and hoping to offer support to others, too! Many blessings to you!

I was just reviewing and staring at all my results AGAIN....as if there gonna go away or something by staring at them

(I often research and look and compare to see if I can find something the dr is missing)

anyway....I just came across the blood work that shows my rbc low, hemoglobin, platelets but didnt understand how that correlates and to what part of it all for me.

I suspected from what Im reading in online literature that it does have something to do with coinfections

particularly babesia...I was diagnosed with babesia too right before being diagnosed with this Dreaded Gene crap.

Im gonna follow this thread to see what others say it means

Has he been tested for any viruses? Viruses can cause a low hemoglobin/RBC & cause bone marrow suppression. Just a thought.

No he never treated for babs, Dr always focused on bart.

He never tested for viruses i am pretty sure because I go to the same LLMD and he doesn't do that Sad

He does live in an old home with mold in the basement, I believe he said that.

I know when he first went to LLMD before even starting treatment and getting diagnosed, he had bad yeast in the mouth.

I think he will come on here today if he feels well enough, he is a member here. I am just trying to help him. He is feeling very weak and is still losing weight.

It does seem that he was doing fairly well after a few months on Doxy, but wanted to kick it up and every since targeting bart with rifampin, lev, omnicef, he keeps going down hill.

I am going on memory here, I think those are the abx. He may have been on zithro as well. Always one abx at a time, and usually not for more than a month or two before switching.

Thanks for thoughts and suggestions.

Lymeinmich,

Is your friend figuring this out? My son has this very same issue. He too is getting worse with treatment.

He has low wbc, rbc, platelets plus low immunoglobulin g. His LLdoc has refered to a hematologist/ oncologist and immunologist for work ups.

So now I'm freaking out about leukemia, of course.

Anybody else have this bloodwork and figured out the causes?
