I have been doing some research on lyme testing. Yes i've heard of Igenex labs and have done a Western Blot there once if I'm not mistaken. However, I would appreciate some more definite confirmation that i am positive for lyme.

It came back negative with Igenex. Dr. Joan Whitaker is dead but what she left behind was a special kind of testing that tested not just for the antibodies for lyme but rather some fluorescent lighting technique which viewed the bacteria under a microscope.

Does anyone know where the RIBb test can still be performed? I mean anywhere in the country?

Thanks

Don't remember the details of QRIBb.

But "Advanced Laboratory Services is pleased to announce that the Borrelia Blood Culture is now available for clinical use in 49 states. " tries to grow Bb from your blood sample. If they see what appear to be spirochetes then they apply a green flourescent monoclonal antibody (MAb)–I never discovered which one– which if it glows green means it is Bb and not some other spirochete.

hmmmmm interesting. It sounds similar to Dr. Whitaker's test.

So i take it i can just google Advanced Laboratory Services and find the test there? Also, do you think this test is superior to what Igenex labs offers?

Here is a link:

Study this:

http://researchednutritionals.com/Announcements/ LymeCultureTest.pdf

Nobody knows which, if any, lab is the "best" for diagnosing lyme. Tis all anecdotal.

Thanks ChuckG. I think the one that makes the most sense and is the most sensitive seems to be the newest one that advanced labs offers with the culture. That one makes more sense to me. Because the others seem to focus on antibodies that we know can escape lyme and many patients who have lyme have tested negative on alot of these tests.

Thanks again
