Hi, I've used samento from week 7 of my treatment until the present (11 months total of treatment) on my LLMDs recommendation. He is also using that as the primary antimicrobial for my son.

Progress with this disease is slow, so it's difficult to say what symptoms and changes are attributable to what medicine. I am (and have been) on several meds/herbals/homepathics, as is my son.

I can say that my son's test scores in spring of 2011 dropped into the 30th percentile, down from upper 90th in Jan of that year. Once we figured out it was Lyme (Dec 2011), he was put on Samento. This May, his test scores finally started rising back up into the 70-80's for percentile. HUGE difference in his memory and cognitive function.

I have seen my joint pain decrease quite a bit. I'm still struggling with babesia. Brain is clearer than it used to be, but still have fog and memory, word choice issues.

As far as mood, I can't really tell you what is attributable to anti-microbials vs. anti-depressants and anti-anxiety meds. These symptoms became overwhelming for me, and I had to change and increase my meds to address them.

I am glad I did, as it makes it MUCH easier for me to comply with treatment and to ensure my son does too.

My LLMD says we'll both be on Samento the whole time. I was on Banderol for a month I think, but that is it. Hope that helps.

I am not a doctor, just a patient striving for recovery and hoping to offer support to others, too! Many blessings to you!

I've just started using Banderol after having a surge in Lyme symptoms after shoulder surgery. I had been feeling a lot better prior to that so I'm really just trying to throw everything at it again.

I read an article (something about the Cowden protocol) about switching between Banderol/ Cumanda/ Samento every 12 days as it's like the Lyme's just constantly being attacked by something new and it can't get used to one thing.

I've used Samento for a few years so I'm planning to cycle it now.

I've just done 12 days today. I started on 5 drops twice a day and worked up to 30 drops twice a day over the first week which might have been a bit quick, but I'm trying to tolerate a bit more herxing in the hope I make progress quickly.

I think it's been helpful for me, but it's definitely produced some horrid horrid migraine-y herx (actually this is the first night in about 2 weeks I've been able to open my eyes after 8pm!). Because of that, I don't think it would be helpful with depression/ anxiety quickly. Herx always make me grumpier!

I find St John's Wort really helpful for my anxiety if you can take it (it has various interactions) and it starts to work pretty quickly.

Me too. I had a very brief stint on amytriptyline for pain, not even depression, and it made me feel like a zombie. My friend recommended St John's Wort and said to think of it as a mood stabiliser rather than an antidepressant because that's really what it does.

I've heard of it working really well in many people and a few who didn't like it. It can interact with other meds, but like I said, it works well for me so I'd always recommend it.

I take 2 capsules in the morning and I use Nature's Way brand, I think it's approx 400mg per capsule. I have used double that dose (am & pm) at particularly difficult times. I use that brand because I found it worked for me and has few added ingredients/ fillers.
