A very close friend emailed me today with a pretty cool...

She is a columnist for a new aged publication...and she has Lyme...pretty bad...and is a member here..but hasn't been able to be too active for a while...

This publication has just gone through a restructuring and will be relaunching in Aug...so she has a deadline of July 9th...would need responses by July 6th...yea short notice I know...

Even tho this is a new aged publication...she was doing a piece on Lyme...and would like to be able to use quotes from as many people as she can and from as many states as she can...

Fluffyluggage (Jen) is a great writer...I lead her to Lyme disease throughout her struggles...and she led me here to MDJ...

Here is what she is looking for...

"If you or anyone you know on MDJ would like to be quoted about Lyme and how, where, and when you got it, how, where, and when you got diagnosed, and also a little about the difficult road it's been, I'd REALLY like to collect some stories for quotes..."

"I'm really wanting to make this a great article about Lyme, with as many quotes thrown in as possible, and from as many states, so that it's not like I'm just saying it's present here in GA, ya know? "

So what you can do, if you would like to be a part of this...is PM me and I will give you Jen's email information...

She is really a great friend, and am so glad that she is being given the opportunity to do this...it will give her a chance to help spread awareness...which is always a good thing...

Thanks for reading this...and hope to have some participants...

Christine

Just got a note from Jen..because of the nature of this article...they were able to give her a little more time...so the New due date is July 16...so she would need all stories no later then the 13th!!!

Thanks again to all who have PM'd me!!!

On another note...Jen has been sick for MANY years...undiagnosed...highly allergic to abx...and has been reinfected just this past week...and was reactive the day after she removed the tick...

Hopefully this time she will come up positive...

So this article really means A LOT!!!!

Just wanted to bump this up really quick...if anyone else wants to share/participate...getting my stuff together...

On another note...She is STILL testing negative...but this doc is NOT deterred...thank GOD...

But she went to her neurologist today...who FLIPPED out on her about a Lyme dx..."there's NO SUCH THING as Lyme...these docs are charlatans..." Blah Blah...the ignorance...

God this stuff just really sets me off...I have always said that I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy...but I am REALLY rethinking that thought...god I wish we could spit in their eye and give it to them when they treat patients like that...sometimes anyway...

Ok enough of my ranting...so in case anyone missed this and wants to be a part of it...just shoot me a pm and I can pass her email addy on...

Thanks to everyone...

Christine

There is a book about that. It's fiction, but written by a Lymie. It's called Over the Edge. So the premise is that this guy is infected with Ly,e and the doctor keeps telling him that there is no such thing as chronic Lyme.

So one night he sneaks into the Doc's house and puts infected ticks in his bed. His wife gets sick, but he won't treat her the way she should be. I can't remember how it ends. My mom read it and was completely freaked out.

We all know the feeling of wanting one of these doctors to have to live with their own Lyme treatment. Possibly this book will scratch that itch for you.

I have e friend who thinks she may have Lyme, but she is going to her regular doctor and isn't really heeding my advice to get another opinion from an llmd. She's early in the disease and her symptoms are mild. Her treatment may not even be that bad.

Her regular doc told her that even if she tests positive, there are a lot of false positives and it doesn't mean anything. Really? Are there false positives? I don't want her to get lead down the wrong road with one of these docs.

She puts a slot of faith in her doctor and I don't know how far to push her.

Previous discussions I participated in:
Phytostan for candida?
Babesia flare?
Bacterial load.

Kimomile...

This is actually an e-friend whom I had to push toward Lyme...and it took time...we built a strong relationship...and I just kept talking to her about it...and when we really got down to comparing symptoms..or her reviewing what she felt...and me explaining what I knew...

She took the lead...found MDJ...and insisted that I get on here...and went from there...

So be kind...gentle...listen...and try to get her here...let her read for herself what others are going through...if you can...

The bottom line is...we can only encourage them to look at these possibilities...what they choose to do with it is up to them...

Suppose its back to voodoo dolls for these ignorant docs! LOL

Wanted to update this as I know that some of you have participated...

Well..the article is on hold for the time being...She got too sick after reinfection...

The doc put her on Doxy..and she had all sorts of issues...and got increasingly worse...

Last week they put in a Pic line...and so far...it is going better then the doxy did...

Fortunately, she has an understanding editor...so they are waiting until she is able to write it...and then they will print it in the next issue...

Which means I can finally get her my story...and if there are others who are wanting to do it...they can PM me and I can put you in contact..

Jen is really sorry that she wasn't able to keep up with the deadline...but it really was out of her hands...We were hoping that reinfection wouldn't hit so hard...but it truly has...

She is a trooper...and is hell bent on getting this article done...and wants to be sure to have it posted here for everyone too...

Anyway...figured I would just update everyone on this...

Christine
