Hi,

Had anyone experienced the elevated body temperature after starting the Biaxin or other Abx.

I started it 4 days ago and woke up this morning with typical Lyme symptoms, headache, pain all over and fatigue and Temperature of 99.7 F.

I have not had any elevated temperature for years, it was always 95.6 or 96.5 F. I am hoping this means that my immune system is finally working and fighting the Lyme.

What is your experience with this? Do you think it is a Herx or just the reaction to Abx?

Every time I pulsed ABXs, I would also get a fever.

Yes, this means your immune system is responding & starting to react to the infections.

In theory, infections do not cause you to have a fever, it's your body's immune system fighting the infections that causes the fever. If a person's immune system is severely compromised, it will shut down & not respond because it is too weak.

Basically, it's your body's way of conserving what little energy the immune system has at the time.
