Thank you evelinawill and your right. The key to this experience is being patient and waiting for my recovery.

Until I'm feeling well enough to go outside and do things there's nothing to worry about really. I'm sure once I feel better I'll get out and mingle.

And I do have awesome online friends ... some I've known more then 10 years. They are always there for me when I need a shoulder or am just feeling lonely.

The funny thing is, I've had three excellent days in a row. The first day I visited my sister and then my niece stayed for two nights.

I was out in the sun and chatting with the neighbors today and yesterday ... so I realize now that I can be around people when I'm feeling okay.

I think long periods of feeling sick make me scared and insecure. I'm sure that's a normal reaction to our abnormal circumstances.

I am not a doctor and the advice I give is my opinion only.

Diagnosed with Lyme Disease in 2006. 36 years and counting.

Rhonda, that's how I feel as well. It just takes too much out of me to do things when I'm feeling sick.

And I found that when I was sick and tried to make people understand they continued to expect too much out of me. I kept telling them but they didn't seem to just get it.

I hope you feel better soon ... maybe the summer sun will make it a little better. So far the sunshine is doing wonders for me.

BartandElla, I too gained a lot of weight after I was diagnosed with LD. I tried not to allow it to bother me too much, but the more well I get the more the weight bothers me.

I know how you feel. And I, too, stick with family for the most part. They understand and they love me unconditionally ... I guess I'm getting too greedy Smile

Bug, I'm sorry for your loss. I dread the day when I lose my mom or dad.

It sounds kind of weird, but reading all of these replies kind of makes me feel better. Not because any of you are sick, but because everyone here understands.

Kind of like the day I was diagnosed with lyme. It was such a relief. Crazy, huh?

I've never made friends easily. I've had lyme since I was 10, but just got diagnosed a couple months ago. I now know that had something to do with it.

I'm now more sick than I have been in probably 25 years. But I'm making online friends fairly easily. At least with people who are older and more mature like me. Not that I'm mature lol.

Well anyway, my mind is not wanting to stay on topic right now. We will get better. There are many who are living proof of that.

Hi Bug50, I'm sorry for your loss. It must be devastating to lose your mom and your sister.

My mom lost her mother when she was 21 years old and her sister at 43. We've talked a lot about it but I think death is like illness, you can't really understand how hard it is until you go through it.

I grieved for my aunt who I was very close to, she died when I was 12 ... I can't imagine how much harder it is when it's your mom.

Sending you hugs and prayers

Hi Dwayne,

I have to admit I was very relieved when I realized I had Lyme Disease. I was misdiagnosed with Fibromyalgia first and when I was finally diagnosed with LD I was still a little hesitant to believe it.

When I finally came in here it was like a light bulb came on above my head Smile

I do have excellent online friends ... some of them I skype with or call on the phone and I've known some of them well over ten years. I refer to one of them as my sister Smile

They've gotten me through some very tough times and of course this support group has a wonderful group of supportive people too.

I hope you feel better soon. Hugs to you.
