(where I was bit)has been hurting like something fierce!!

well, now my elbow is burning hot! and I can barely stand to use the darn

thing. would icyhot / bengay or any other ointment get me thru the day?

should I try a brace until my appointment?

I'm on mobic but it is not doing JACK for my joint pain. the joint pain in

my arm and bottom sole is a BART sign. right?

below.. the top right is swollen and the veins are all collapsed.. ??

I would say, if you can get your hands of BioFreeze...it doesn't get all hot. Its pretty good stuff...

our LLND recommended a castor oil liver poultice if you have pain concentrated in one area
I am not in the medical field and anything I say is simply my opinion and should not replace the advice of your doctor.

This is such a coincidence that you posted this right now. I just went to my LLMD yesterday because of my wrist and shoulder pain..(both arms). I have the same swelling you have in my wrists.

He said not Lyme related and said I'm having tendenitis is my wrists and rotator cuff problems with my shoulders and gave me excercises to do. Hmmmm..now I'm wondering if he might be wrong.....

Thanks for posting..

Lyme infects tissue by causing localized inflamation so it can enter easier. In the process it damages the tissue some. Our bodies respond by producing more cholesterol to 'patch' the damage. It is a complicated process and not well understood.

The immune system will followup by attacking and removing damaged tissue as well as dead bacterium. This causes even more swelling by the realase of histamines and other immune chemicals.

As long as the immune system recognizes proteins that are not 'of healthy body tissue' the process will continue. How bad it gets depends on how much bad there is and how quickly it is elliminated.

Cold will vastly reduce the process as everything slows down in the cold. NSAIDS might help some. Antihistamines might help some. Good luck.

thanks for the advice and ..

Jan.. it can't be a coincidence that it is happening right where my bite

is OR that the lyme/bart isn't the cause of it. I have never ever had any

problems with my arms or wrists before. I go on Monday to my doc and will

let you know what she says about it. Maybe I will have some info to help

us both.

Doglick.. !!??!! that is so very interesting!! I will research that

tonight
