i have bartonella and have a lot of difficulty speaking, walking, and... everything else.

i discovered on my own that ambien (yes, the sleeping pill) relieves a lot of the neurological symptoms and does something to make it so i can speak clearly. it also helps control the muscle spasms and tingling. it makes walking easier, too, and clears up brain fog.

my llmd was impressed by this (i took video to show him the difference of me on and off ambien) and he will now be prescribing it to his patients as needed. i take 4 12.5's (extended release) a day, which even though it sounds like a lot, the rifampin counteracts a lot of the ambien's effects. people ask how it doesn't put me to sleep, but i explain to them that i need it first thing in the morning in order to wake up because it is so difficult to function without it.

soon after i made this discovery, an article came out about a man who discovered ambien helps him speak clearly, too. it's amazing and i don't doubt it's related to what i'm experiencing. if this link doesn't work, google "tom rohe":

it seems to me that not many, if any, have heard of ambien helping with bartonella. if you already have the prescription, why not give it a try a few hours before you go to bed (if you can stay awake on it) and see if it helps anything? you will have a hard time convincing doctors to give it to you, so document the difference on video. the FDA only approves one 12.5 pill a day, so since i take 4, i pay out of pocket for the rest. expensive, but it's definitely a necessity.

i really hope this message gets to people and the word starts spreading that ambien relieves A LOT of bart symptoms. good luck, everyone!

wow, very cool. Thanks for sharing this discovery. I do believe we need to keep ourselves as functional as possible

as we fight this disease. You don't want to spending large portions of your time unable to speak. Good for you for finding a solution.
