I saw my llmd on May 24, and he suggested I come off my antibiotics for 1

month and if all is well, stay off them for the summer. I thought that

sounded great. I took a short break in March for 7-10 days and felt

really, really good. I don't feel good right now, however.

I feel like Michael J. Fox looks right now with tremors and twitching.

Sorry, but that's the only thing that comes to mind to explain it.

My brain won't think in a straight line,

which is fairly common, but it's really bad right now.

Does anyone have any suggestions? My llmd's idea was that if I could

off the antibiotics, we could start up in the fall and really give

this disease a run for its money as the antibiotics lose their

effectiveness overtime and I've been on various combinations for 2

years.

I would like to continue to be off them, but I feel as though I've

slid almost back to where I was 2 years ago.

Looking for suggestions. Thanks so much,

Klipper

hi klipper,

dilemnas galore aren't there?

been on abx 2 yrs; i've read where dr. burrascano has stated it's good for patients to go off ABX FOR AWHILE. i don't know if that is in his current lyme guidelines or not.

but at various lyme conferennces where he's been a main speaker, he has talked about this.

sorry to read about yoru tremors, etc; my husband suffers from them for his advanced parkinson's disease. hubby's are non-stop rolling hand tremors where he can't use his hands except for eating; that is challenging.

what have they given you for tremors?

hugs/prayers; go with your GUT FEELINGS.

Klipper - Sorry to hear you are suffering so bad from coming of the ABXs. Have you &/or your LLMD considered doing any "naturals" over the summer while you're off the ABXs?

Hi Klipper

I think a major problem for many on antibiotics for long periods of time is that it drives the bacteria into hiding, Biofilms are the reason many relapse after taking years of abx,

I know I felt close to remission a few times after months of Abx only to have my symptoms return after I stopped taking the Abx

It can become a Vicious Cycle, The transition from years of abx to taking nothing can shock our bodies,

60% to 70% of our Immune system comes from the good bacteria within our digestive system

Abx Kills the Good bacteria within our digestive system lowering our Immune system

Taking a good quality Probiotic can help restore the Good bacteria helping our immune systems

When taking a drug break I always switched from Abx over to Antimicrobial and Immune building herbs to help my body fight.

There are so many Natural Herbs you can take that work as good as abx without all the side effects

Detoxing is also Vital to the healing process, Many people with bacterial infections are loaded with heavy metals and toxins, this can cause a lot of problems and stop our bodies from healing

I use a sauna 5 days a week and I also love to water fast to detox the body along with supplements that aid in detoxification

It is going to take a lot more then taking abx to heal from these infections and parasites

Alternative Healing methods, like Ayurveda,Chiropractic,Homeopathy,Naturopathic medicine, Chinese medicine, can all help us in the healing process

There are many paths to healing , We have to search for the right treatment protocals for our own lives

It could be that your healing might be found in another method of treatment or a combination of many

Keep fighting

John

I had the same relapse after 8 months of antis it was pure torture when Lyme and co caught up with me.

My only solution was to get back on it took me almost a month to catch back up.

Only a month after that my thyroid levels dropped off the charts without me figuring it out until i was bedridden another month.

I am pulsing omniceff azithro mepron artimisin and flagyl now and definitely will go on samento when i stop again.

This is just so tricky to figure out
