A hateful new problem has emerged....

Does anyone else have upper chest/ throat pain with swallowing and breathing?

I read pain w/ swallowing is lyme, but what about breathing?!

I'm thinking nerve damage and/or reflux.

Any thoughts you might have would be appreciated.

Hi Mystic, I always have a sore throat in morning.. sometimes swollen glands in neck.. under jaw area/ears. It usually gets better as day progresses.

I've just recently started walking outside for 15-20 minutes a day (not everyday) and I notice when I walk my chest gets tight, hurts and I am breathless which is a weird new symptom for me also.

This may or may not have coincidentally started when I started tindamax.

What meds are you taking? Are you doing anything new?

Best wishes,

xoRB

Mystic - can you explain it a little more?

I used to get esophagus pain that would radiate to my chest, but it was still my esophagus. It would start with a tight feeling, then a tight pinching feeling, then a tight feeling accompanied by the feeling of swallowing glass every time I swallowed.

Breathing would be painful - tight, uncomfortable, at times sharp.

I haven't had that pain again since I started drinking aloe juice daily.

But again - if you could describe it more, that might help Smile

DS always gets sore throat/ swollen glands too. But this pain is new. He's just taking doxy, BWF A-L, and a bunch of supplements. The newest things we added are isocort (cortisol) and 5HTP.

DS describes it as feeling like there's something stuck down his esophagus, near his collar bone. Made worse by swallowing his pills, drinking water, eating.

Better after sleeping and better when lying down. So, likely not reflux.

He's also getting severe mid/ low-stomach area spasams/cramps that come on suddenly, are a 10 in pain, and go away quickly.

Hopefully, this too shall pass.

Hi Mystic

A few weeks ago I started with pain in my chest I thought was from benching heavy at the Gym I thought at first I injured my sternum bone lifting heavy, Then I realised it hurt every time I drank or ate something

The pain was moderate to severe at times, I have been off all meds for over 8 months and doing all naturals, A few weeks ago I felt some Lyme symptoms coming back strong so I took some doxy for a few weeks

With Lyme disease a lot of people develop Gi Problems, I went to My primary and he said it was gerd

If you have gerd or acid reflux when taking doxy , doxy can burn the esophagus, On the Doxy label it tells you not to lay down after taking doxy because doxy can burn the esophagus

Taking Doxy with even minor acid reflux could cause this problem you are facing, Acid reflux can be bad enough but while on doxy it can become severe

I started reading a lot of about acid reflux and many have pain in their chest from it, Probably the reason the call it heart burn

Apple cider vinegar and aloe juice are two natural ways to treat acid reflux, I have read hundreds of testimonies about Brags apple cider vinegar working better then any Pharm med in treating acid reflux

I have a bottle of brags at the house so yesterday I took it 4 times and today the pain is a lot better,

I would bet what you are dealing with was acid reflux while taking doxy causing a burn

Hope we both get some relief soon

John
