MDJunction to me

jenniferdiva"MDJunction has been just an amazing support for me. The people who are on mdj are so nice! Unlike the many other support sites that I have been on. I have made several friends on mdj who are so supportive and so educated about mental illness. Of course non of us are doctors, but we certainly offer each other hugs, opinions, and advice. I have learned a great deal from my friends on mdjunction. I am also encouraging other people who suffer from mental illness to come on to MDJ. It can be a life line." (jenniferdiva)

Ok this morning i had a soft boiled egg. Then i took my morning dose of 5 abx. Then an hour later i had to down some pepto with the worst ever nausea.

What is the best food to eat in the morning to "soak" up the meds?

Eggs with turmeric, salt, pepper and extra virgin olive oil.

Along with steamed Collards Greens with salt, pepper, extra virgin olive oil and whatever herb I'm in the mood for.

Topped with an avocado if I have any laying around.

Chris, you aren't on antibiotics, though right?

lymeontario -

Avoid eggs if you are taking antibiotics right after or before. Eggs have a lot of calcium and magnesium in them and will make the nausea horrible when eaten with antibiotics.

Try eating steel cut oatmeal made with water or an alternative milk that is NOT enriched (no added calcium and mag), some applesauce or other berries.

You could also do a piece sprouted toast with nut butter.

I will usually eat something small that is carb like... I make gluten free, sugar free, vegan banana muffins.

Then 2 hours after my antibiotics I will make a protein shake. (you could eat your eggs)

Hope that helps.

blessings,

purple

Purple - I have eggs every morning with my biaxin and malarone. My doctor asked me if I was tolerating the eggs okay. I said I am, so he just shrugged. I want to get the most out of my abx, so are eggs a bad idea? I already have such a limited selection. Due to my POTS, I can't really eat carbs, so it's eggs or nothin'. Also, can't eat lactose, corn, nuts or any nut products, anything with seeds, or soy.

Dxd March 2012 with Lyme, Babesia, and suspected Bartonella, after suffering for 4 years, and possibly having it even longer. Same as most others, I have suffered with a long list of terrible symptoms.
Also have POTS, RA and Hashimoto's Thyroiditis. Working with a LLMD.

Previous discussions I participated in:
Alcohol
Eye symptoms

I stopped eating eggs for breakfast because it always made me feel sick. It's really hard for me to force myself to eat something just to take meds. I am not a breakfast person.
