MDJunction to me

jaguarandcubs"MDJ is an integral part of my everyday life. Since joining in 2010, I have met so many amazing people. It is truly incredible to be able to share good times and not so good times with others who face the same health challenges. And MDJ has support groups for every condition I have. I don't know of anywhere else that can offer that. I love that I can learn from others as well as offer my own experiences for others to learn from." (jaguarandcubs)

I'm now also positive for Bartonella! This comes as no surprise to me, I've been trying to convince my doctor to treat Bart based off clinical symptoms since I started treatment with him recently. However, he will only treat co-infections based off clinical testing (don't worry, I will be getting a new doctor soon).

However, the best part of this story, is that the doctor actually reviewed my co-infection reporting from IGENEX and said everything was negative.

Well, I asked for a copy of my lab and my Bartonella IgG was 40. IGENEX states "IgG <40 should be considered negative. However,IgG 40 to 160 may or may not indicate active infection."

You know, considering how difficult it is to get laboratory results for co-infections, you think that might have been worth some significance.

*Rant over*

It's challenges like these which are completely unique to lyme patients. Can you imagine someone with another serious disease being forced to interpret their own results on the internet? It's shameful what we deal with when seeking a diagnosis.

In 2003, I asked my (then) MD to do a Lyme test. He did and called and told me it was negative....2003

Two months ago, I was sorting through papers to clean out a drawer.

Had copies of my medical records from a previous issue.

Looked at the test from 2003.....it said REPORT THESE RESULTS TO CDC.....

Yes, the rest of the story....I could have been treated for almost 10 years....

GET COPIES OF EVERYTHING

I'm an Advocate

expanding this more: get copies of ALL MEDICAL REPORTS, TESTINGS, XRAYS, ETC. including LABS!!

you may have to pay for these, but it's worth it!

our local clinic, i sign a NOTICE OF RELEASE; i pay clinic $15/yr. for ALL my visits/actions taken on me.

besides if medical notes are WRONG, get them corrected!!

i'd never seen any of mine until they were submitted for ssdi/disability work insurance benefits. they used all the ERRORS AGAINST ME!
