It is such a good feeling to have friends I can tell my deepest thoughts and always get back to me with their support. I have never seen a therapist for long periods of time. Right or wrong, this is the best therapy possible for me. Thanks Roy for getting this up and running and making such a difference in my life. Sara" (saralaurie)

Hi,

Just curious if anyone else has this, and whether it's related to Lyme.

I have seriously had this for years and years and never thought anything of it but now I wonder if there is any connection.

When I wake up in the morning, my hand strength is greatly diminished. I can do things, I just feel like an old lady. My hands have always felt weak when I wake up.

Like a minute ago I was trying to open a maple syrup bottle and it was so hard. My hands feel so weak.

I've always laughed it off, but snyone else have this? Is it normal? Or another fun Lyme symptom.

I am not a doctor, nor do I play one on TV. All comments are based on my personal experience or opinion.

* Had a band 23 on Western Blot thru LabCorp 2012
* Bands 39 and 41 thru Clongen Labs 2012
* My Lyme ID test ALL positive thru Neuroscience.
* Have been infected for possibly 10 years
* CD57 60
* My symptoms have all been cognitive (neurolyme), but I have always seemingly stayed functional (even if it didn't feel like that on the inside!).

* Have not started treatment yet (as of 4/2012)
* Blessed that the only pain is in my right knee joint, occasionally left.

*I always wonder, how many ppl are walking around, with my type of Lyme infection, just being put on paxil...

I believe it is definitely another lyme symptom. I had severe

pain in my hands and feet. That is how this all started for me.

I had a hard time opening things and my hands were swollen. I

would drop things very easily.

That symptom has improved with treatment.

My weakness began in 2008, I had an office job and I noticed my typing speed was off. It is now 2012 and I have lost all function of my left arm and hand. It has become to weak to hold a cell phone.

I have a hard time believing it is Lyme because I don't know anyone else who has had this happen. I do think my Lyme may have caused or trigger MS and that is my problem.

I finally have insurance that cover physical therapy and I am going on Monday.

I was on 10weeks of IV and it helped a teeny bit but not really enough to change anything.

Stay on treatment. I wish so very badly I knew about Lyme years ago when I had early symptoms.

Thanks guys. I'm so sorry always to hear about what everyone goes through on this forum.

My hands in the AM feel only a tiny bit swollen, only noticeable if I make a fist. But there is no pain, no nothing, just a feeling of, I am trying hard to open something etc but they are much weaker.

Love to hear from anyone else with something similar!

Thanks again everyone. I'm so glad I found this forum.

When I think back this has been happening for around 7 years or so.

During pregnancy my wrists hurt so much that if I even touched them lightly it was excruciating. My fingers would go numb sometimes and I'd wake up frequently with numbness in my hands.

After I gave birth years ago, the numbness went away, but my wrists hurt immense amounts if touched for a whole year or so. They thought I would need an operation, but it went away.

I had it really bad and they didn't know why. I am not overweight (126 lb), no diabetes etc.

Thinking back, I wonder if that was all Lyme related.

I agree. I had carpal tunnel when pregnant with my first child. I

wonder if that triggered it. Well, also, both of my kids have it.

Did I give it to them? I don't know. I am currently treating them

for it.
