Hi everyone. I've been treated for 8 months now with factive, doxy and bicillin shots, 15 now completed.

I have been feeling WORSE for several weeks than ever before. People normally don't herx for several weeks.

I ache and feel "hard" everywhere, my neck and head hurt, feel weak.

I am concerned my treatment is doing me in.

Any thoughts?

When I was initially treated for Lyme with Doxy, I began a herx after about 3 days and herxed for almost a week. Felt better for several weeks and then, bad again.

After that, no additional treatment. Continued with regular flares, then declined in health.

Saw an ND approximately five months later. After a few months of treatment, some things got better, others worse - plus, new symptoms.

Apparently, I have coinfections - just began treating for Babesiosis.

Perhaps, you have coinfections that need to be treated.

Also, are you taking a cyst buster? I take Grapefruit Seed Extract in an attempt to keep the cysts from remaining dormant. I want to see them ruptured and eradicated!

Hoping for better days ahead for you! Have you considered changing doctors?

8 months isn't that long really, especially if using oral and possibly abx shots? Have you been following a strict diet (no alcohol, no sugar, no gluten), have you been detoxing regularly? have you done forced rest and the appropriate exersize? If not, things will linger longer.

Also, true about treating co-infections and a cyst buster as well as needing a non-cellwall Bb killer.

Been 4 years for me. I'm better overall but still got a way to go. It can be brutal.

Remember...It's a marathon, not a sprint.

There are just too many factors involved...especially once you've gone chronic - which doesn't take long.

Mowgli asked some great questions. You have to do all of those things mentioned - it's not easy. If you don't, you just can't progress much.

My LLMD yesterday made a couple statements worth repeating. Most will acknowledge this cannot be "cured" only managed, and also, if you are treating for some time and are not getting results, there may be other "passengers" that have not been addressed.

By passengers, he is referring to the elevator analogy. Our bodies are like an elevator, each of us with our own load capacity. We all have multiple things going on in our bodies that add to that load.

Lyme may be the one tipping the scales, but it could be other loads that are impacting our health even more than the Lyme.

These can include things like coinfections, heavy metals, viral infection(s), yeast infection, mycoplasma, mold, parasites, hormone issues, food sensitivities, vitamin deficiencies, genetic disposition, toxins.

That is why Lyme disease is now referred to by some doctors as having a BROADER meaning than just the borreliosis infection. Your illness may include some or all of the above.

Of course, in addition, due to the 3 morphed forms of borrelia, your antimicrobials (abx) must be taken to address cell wall form, no cell wall form, and cyst/biofilm form.

Not feeling well is indicating that your elevator is still in an overload position for whatever reason. Review the list above, I'm sure I've missed some, but ask yourself if you've addressed any or all through testing, antimicrobials or supplemental support.

Hugs,

Glitchy

I couldn't agree with GlitchyMomma more!!

Now that I have had my hormonal/vitamin, etc. issues managed I am feeling much better!

It really took my recovery to a new level.

I am starting to learnt that being on the right antibiotic is a small percentage of healing from this terrible disease.

I found that my systemic yeast issue is causing way more symptoms than my lyme disease is and they have the same symptoms. I had to quit oral antibiotics because it was only feeding the yeast more and it wasn't helping anyways, I felt worse on it. So now I'm treating naturally with Byron White Formulas A-L Complex (for lyme), and A-FNG (for yeast).

Also I take Candex for the yeast, which are natural enzymes. Oh yeah and I rife with my rife machine.

Yeah I agree with GitchyMomma too. I've read about the other contributers too many times.
I am on all herbals daily. A lot of herbs for cyst buster, biofilm breaker, get bugs out of hiding herbs.

Then a combo to eradicate for lyme and co-infections. Then more for virals, intestinal parasites, and fungal killers. Strict no sugar, carbs, alcohol, etc,. diet. Alkaline diet. Low sugar fruit, and no carb vegetables.

Interesting link on raw, unpasteurized, unfiltered, honey as an anti-bacterial. For more interesting info in that link "click" on the 2 words in blue that say "lyme disease".
