I had routine bloodwork done last week, and was told today that I tested positive for Lyme on two out of seven bands. Also told my sed rate was 50. I need to see a Infectious Disease dr, and Rheumatologist. Do the two bands mean I have Lyme, or is it an indication to get tested further. I don't remember any bullseye bitemarks, but in October, I did have a terrible facial rash. I also get of headaches. Any help I could get until I get to Dr would be appreciated. Thanks

A forum leader should be along soon to help you. But, I will tell you that you might want to post a request for an LLMD on the LLMD request board. (LLMD = Lyme Literate Medical Doctor)

An LLMD will be much more specialized in treating Lyme than an ID or Rheumatologist.

Which bands tested positive? Also, IgM or IgG. Sounds as if you have symptoms of Lyme.

Many people don't remember a bite or a rash - many! I just happed to be one that did find bites and had a rash.

Less then 50% of people get a rash, or remeber a bite so it does not mean you do not have lyme.

Which bands were postive.

Anyway your body would not be producing antibodies if you did not have lyme. With the exception of band 41

But you do not only rely on your blood test for aswers, you need to look at other factors such as your exposure to ticks, and your symptoms.

It is not all about the test.

One of the leaders should be along to help you, but you need to break up your post to a max of 2-3 lines so the neuro lymies can read it.

Also if I were you I would not see an ID doctor, for the most part they are a horrible if you have lyme, most don't believe in chronic lyme.

So if I was you I would not waste my time trying to see and ID doctor, I would suggest you see a LLMD asap.

I am not a doctor, what advice I give is from my own experience and things I've learned through others.

Betty’s suggested posting guidelines:

NO ALL CAPS POSTS; they are illegible to me/other neuro folks!

Many of members have neuro lyme, and it is hard to read long solid block text and be able to comprehend; example, me, 42 yrs. neuro chronic lyme, so we are UNABLE to comprehend and read. Thank you for helping us help YOU

please post in short paragraphs like you see below or look at a few other posts, but we neuro folks need them short.

1-2 sentences MAX per paragraph and hit ENTER TWICE to doublespace between each paragraph. We’ve lost our comprehension skills to read solid block text.

we neuros lose our train of thought if the sentence is broken up in the middle; so please keep an ENTIRE sentence together as ONE. hugs

For easier reading, please edit your post. You can break up your longer paragraphs into smaller paragraphs. Please hit

ENTER key twice after each paragraph.

Go to left hand corner; click edit send. Then go to bottom and click SUBSCRIBE TO THIS DISCUSSION.

Thank you for posting in a manner that makes it easier for all to read and help others.

Did you have any bands that said IND ? Where was the test run out of? Also what about the IgG?

23-25 outer surface protein C (OspC), specific for Bb (Lyme)

41 flagellin protein of all spirochetes; this is usually the first to appear after a Bb infection and is specific for all Borrellia

If you are IgM 23+ and IgM 41+ you are considered CDC positive for Lyme. On the IGM bands, that's all that's needed.
